A long leg line is one of my personal figure flattery priorities. I don’t always stick to it, but nine times out of ten I’ll choose outfit options that make my legs look as long and shapely as possible. And I’ve gotten many questions about how shoes and hemlines affect the leg line, so lemme boil it down for ya:
Basically, you want to consider your ankles and knees. If you’re wearing shoes that disguise the curve of your ankle, your legs will look more shapely if you can show your knees.

When I was in college, I got scolded by a guy for not caring enough about my clothes. He took it upon himself to tell me that I’d be so much prettier if I’d just put on a dress once in a while. He was an acquaintance, not a friend, and he felt it was important to let me know that my lack of interest in fashion was affecting his perception of me. And potentially the perceptions of others. I did not care enough about fashion.
The receptionist at my old job was an older gal and famously grumpy. She was one of those people whose compliments always felt backhanded and acidic. She made a point of commenting whenever I wore something she perceived to be new – items that, nine times out of ten, I’d had for years but not yet worn to the office. When I told her I was writing a book, she lit up. When I told her what it was about, she pulled a grimace. I cared too much about fashion.

My house is small and its closets minuscule, so my clothes also occupy dressers and armoires. Still, space is at a premium and I’ve learned a few tricks to make the most of my storage space:
Alternate sweaters when stacking
My sweaters are in a hanging dealy-bob like this one, but this will work in drawers, too. I fold them all the same way (second technique shown here), but stack them so that one has the collar facing out, the next has the fold, then collar, then fold. The folded area is bulkier than the collar area, so alternating them prevents a sweater pileup.
