Insomniac Sale Picks: Satchels

*In this new late-night feature, I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I’ll get the ball rolling myself, but would LOVE suggestions. Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Plus-sized pencil skirts? What would you like to see featured?*

BCBGeneration Dinah Large Messenger – was $108, now $76.99

This is a vegan pick, made from synthetic leather with a subtle metallic sheen. I love the look of satchels, but fussing with the buckles drives me batso. This bag has faux buckles and magnetic closures. Brilliant! The minimal hardware is fantastic, and I’m digging those angled straps on the flap.

Jessica Simpson Lafayette Large Flap – was $108, now $59.99

A bit more ladylike in design, but still roomy and versatile. This guy is also synthetic, with a printed croc texture and shiny metal hardware. Totally dig the turnlock closure, zippered back pocket, and versatile strap options. You can also nab this bag in red, leopard, or gray.

Radley London Cambridge Large Flap Satchel – was $278, now $185.90

Definitely a purse/satchel hybrid, this bag still gives off a delightfully tomboyish air. And yes, more false buckles with magnetic backs! Beneath the flap are two large external pockets, among my favorite handbag features as you can pop your phone and keys in there and limit your rummaging-around time. As you can likely tell by the price, this is our genuine leather option. Also comes in a gorgeous rich purple.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for great satchels:

  1. Diaz Bags on Etsy – I own two bags from this vendor and both are top-notch. Handmade, too.
  2. Fossil – I’ve got the Maddox Small Workbag and LOVE it!
  3. ASOS – Just search for “satchel.” They’ve got loads.

  • Fun feature, Sal. Some of those Diaz bags are fabulous. I really like the BCBG bag too (and I love 6pm).

  • These are all so cute! I am loving structured bags right now!

This is a great post idea! OTK boots, flare/bell bottom jeans, and crew neck sweaters, are a few suggestions for this series :-).

    • Sal

      Thanks, lady! I’m on it.

  • Robert

Great Idea! Love those bags! Especially the large flap satchel, you can hold just about everything in them…
Jeans, sweaters and dresses are just a few suggestion!

  • D

Nice selections! I know its pretty specific, but I’d like to see you tackle scull scarves. I’ve seen several seriously amazing ones lately, and I’ve never seen one in a store!

    • Sal

Oooh, I’ll try! Hope I can find a few on sale.

      • D

Thank you! It really must have been late, I just realized that I managed to misspell “skull”! Ha!

  • Patricia

Man! How come I had never come across Radley London bags before? I am in love with that satchel….it’s such a bummer that they don’t ship to my country 🙁

  • Jen

I love that last one, and in purple? I squealed. But I will put it on the X-mas list, because that is still way out of my price range.

How about: items to create fall trends, plus sized coats, wide-calve boots, cowboy boots, and statement jewelry. Oooo, also, designer inspired or pick a designer look and duplicate it for cheap.

  • danielle

ah i’ve been coveting that radley satchel for awhile, but before it was available in purple and that color isn’t listed on their website anymore. i’m crossing my fingers that maybe i’ll be able to find one in-store now that it’s on sale!

  • Shaye

Lord a’mighty, would I ever like to see a feature on plus-sized pencil skirts. My best one is vintage, and even that I had to take in the waist. (Not to mention that vintage plus-sized pencil skirts are only slightly less rare than unicorns, so I’m not holding my breath for lightning to strike twice.)

  • Oooh, fun feature! I’d love to see plus-sized toggle coats and/or wide-shaft rain boots. (hey, I live in Seattle 🙂
