Chapter 2 Challenges

I’m having great difficulty defining my current style. That it’s a little incoherent is one of the reasons I’m doing this. But it’s also not fashionable (and I don’t WANT to be fashionable) so finding pinterest boards etc with people who dress like me is nigh on impossible because nobody does. I’m not brand focussed at all (lots of history with charity shops, couldn’t give a stuff what it says on the label) and so the questions about brands are making me go… er? dunno? And to top it all off I am camera shy so have very few pics of myself. Those I have are usually either at special events (in posh gear – not my daily style) or on walking holidays (in walking gear – also not my daily style). I think I’m going to have to do outfit shots specially. Am I the only one who has difficulty with this bit? Feels a bit like I’m stumped before I’ve even got started.

Sorry that previous post may have seemed a little negative (a little?!)… I’m working through it. I guess if it wasn’t a challenge you wouldn’t need to have websites and books about it.

So sorry for the delay in response, Libby! I know that putting language around your personal style can seem impossible at times, but there are at least a few common threads in there. Even if they are built around the challenges you’re facing. Hopefully you’ve identified a few!

Maybe you should try taking photos of your outfits? They will be only for your personal use so maybe you won’t be camera-shy. Also, i found that many women at Wardrobe Remix are not at all fashionable.
