I've been gradually reading through your blog recently as part of my general workplace procrastination routine. (And what an amazing blog it is.) I had to comment on this entry, because Trinknitty's weird beggar-getting-mead painting? TOTALLY the same painting as the one belonging to my grandma and hung up over my piano as a child. That painting used to give me nightmares, I swear to God.

Wow. I'm so impressed! You found so many great pieces, it's inspiring. I miss having really great thrift stores in SF, ours here in Maine are small, tired and picked over. I love so many of your scores, but the red tunic is really fun, and i can see it with ankle-length leggings and some chunky heels ... funky jewels. Yeah.

Fantabulous stuff, Sal! That was totally worth not spending your $10 last week. I like the belted shirtdress a bit better. As for the Hobo International ~ I told me mom about the great deal you got after she should me the Hobo Wallet she just bought for $120. Her is wallet is truly gorgeous and worth the money, but we are still jealous of the deal you got!

I am so in awe! And to think, I'm just hoping I can find THE perfect black (or dark-coloured) maxi skirt in order to resist slapping down $150 at anthropologie (where I fell in love with one). Ebay to the rescue - maybe! (fingers crossed!)

Personally, I like the belted look. I actually think it gives a sharper definition at the waist, whereas the buttoned look is softer, more organic. Personally, I'm a sucker for crispness and tailored clothing, particularly when accenting a waist.

Hmmm..what about that belt...is it smooth, or would it snag delicate clothing?

I get lucky every now and then, but I mostly stick to kitschy kitchen stuff and silly paintings.
