Dressed for: Repeat

Already Pretty outfit featuring drop-shoulder stripe top, Karen Kane skinny jeans, tortoiseshell chain necklace, Plumo bag, Nixon watch, tall suede boots

Striped top – clothing swap – similar design
Jeans – courtesy Karen Kane
Boots – Envy Footwear Katima (no longer available) – similar
Necklaces – eBaysimilar
Watch – Nixon Time Teller
Earrings – gift – they’re by local designer Realia by Jen
Bag – Plumo

This top was scored at a recent clothing swap with my lovely girlfriends. It’s a lot looser and boxier than my regular silhouette, but I loved the sleeve and collar details. And, of course, can hardly ever resist stripes.

Although I do spend time planning outfits, some are created on the fly. This combo was thrown together in a Saturday morning panic, and I loved it so much I wore a variation again a week later. THAT doesn’t happen very often.

What’s on repeat from your closet these days? (Anything striped?!)

As a matter of fact, I’m wearing my much-loved striped maxi dress today because it is definitely a Pajama Clothes Wednesday over here in Mia Land. I’m also probably going to be wearing a lot of a particular tank top/short-shorts combination throughout the summer because it’s comfy, easy, and I feel rad as hell in it.

  • That outfit is really cute! Love the bag and boots and I don’t usually like stripes but I like that shirt. Just thought I’d tell you. 🙂

Stripes and fit and flare dresses. I love them so much. On the weekend I found a gorgeous striped fit and flare. I want to wear it every day.

I love that top! I like how many directions the stripes go, and how the stripes on binding around the neck are faced. Such a neat detail. I’ve also got a weakness for stripes. And polka-dots.

  • I work part-time in retail. Often I will repeat a skirt I’ve worn with a jacket to my office job during the week and pair it with a blue jean jacket or more casual shoes on the weekend.

Love stripes. I have a top similar to yours but mine is sleeveless. I have trucker shoulders and no hips so tapered jackets give me the illusion of a waist and draws away attention from my broad back.

And like your outfit, I love mixing browns and blacks. When I try to convince some women these colors work well together they are skeptical.

Those jeans look great on you! Anyway, just wanted to say that your article about the clothing swap made my recent swap easier – I included the link with the invite, and it definitely persuaded some folks to come who were a little skeptical. Thank you!

This looks very nice! I like it! You say it’s looser than what you normally wear but I think it looks great. When stuff is too tight I think it looks restrictive and uptight, looser looks so relaxed and nice. Not to mention slimming (not that you need slimming, but it does that).

  • I like a more relaxed fit on you – looks terrific, very modern and hip.

  • I really like how you paired the sweater with the necklace. The boxier shape and high neckline works really well with the louder necklace. Also, that bag is DIVINE!

I have been irresistibly drawn to stripes this season — tops, shoes, scarves — everything stripes! Love this top. You are so right about the detail!

This is the cutest striped shirt I’ve ever seen – the style is so non-standard. Color me green with envy. You wear it well.

  • I am a huge fan of stripes, so I love the striped top. I guess I am old fashioned, but I have trouble with brown with blue. It’s just me, I know. The whole outfit looks very cute.

    That’s a lovely top!

I tend to wear a lot of my clothes on repeat, as I fall into ruts quite easily. At the moment I’m wearing a blue, pleated skirt on repeat (and am actually wearing it today).

I have an affinity for collecting anything navy/white “sailor” stripes … sadly the boat-neck style doesn’t suit my bosomy-ness but I can’t resist. Found an authentic French unisex version recently at the church $1 store so got the BF wearing it now.

  • Great outfit, casual, but stylish and flattering. I love the brown accents.

I’m big into loose tops at the moment. One of my favs (I’m wearing it right now) is a black batwing jumper (sweater). It’s fairly simple but I wear it over and over again.

I know it’s not your normal silhouette, but I really like it. What do they say about breaking the rules once you know them? Great example here.
