Dressed for: Piles of Purple

Already Pretty outfit featuring purple cardigan, emerald green eShakti dress, purple peeptoes, purple That's Mine necklace

Cardigan – thrifted – similar
Dress – eShaktisame style, different color
Necklace – courtesy  That’s Mine Boutique
Bracelet – thrifted – similar
Earrings – thrifted – similar
Peeptoes – Opitzsimilar (in sparrow)

I styled this dress similarly back in June, and although I considered mixing it up a bit more I ended up with this combo and reminded myself that if it ain’t broke, there’s no need to fix it. This bold green plays so nicely with other bright colors that I piled on gobs of purple accents. Some colors are just magnets for other colors, it seems.

Purple, emerald, and other jewel tones are big for fall. Are you a fan of this palette?

  • I am, I am! (a big fan of this palette). And of the shape of this dress. Just lovely.

Jewel tones are my FAVORITE palette. I feel like there is something there to flatter everyone, and they’re the perfect balance between bright and classic.

  • Love this color combo! Just got my green Ralph Lauren skirt from ebay in this shade and will definitely be using this as inspiration!

  • Charming! I’m from Louisiana and so those colors – emerald, purple (and gold) are the official colors of Mardi Gras.

I love jewel tones, but mixing them together like that would really take me out of my comfort zone. Maybe I need to work on that. 🙂

Pretty! You know who would love this outfit? The little mermaid 😉

Love this – so bright and cheery and a nice break from traditional summer colors I am seeing everywhere. Q: was that a cardigan intended to be tied or did you just do that with a regular one? And also: I have been tempted by open-toed pumps but living in a cold climate, and not one for bare legs much past September, not sure it makes sense. What do you think?

    • Hey Bubu! The cardigan is regular, just tied by me. I’ve found that this works for shortish, boxy, lightweight cardigans.

My peeptoes get virtually no use outside of warm springs and summers, so I don’t think they’re a fabulous investment for cold climes. However, they’re more conservative than actual sandals so if you work in a fairly formal environment that allows for some open-toed footwear and want a dressier option, peeptoes can be just the thing!

  • I love this color combination. Very unexpected. That dress is gorgeous.

Wow, great colors! Love this outfit.

  • What a gorgeous outfit! I love the palette–it reminds me of one of my favorite semi-precious stones, fluorite. A fluorite bracelet would fit right in.

I love this outfit, and am wondering about the durability of the cardigan. When you tie them like this, do they bounce back after washing?

    • Yep, haven’t had any issues yet! I’m using cotton and manmade blends, nothing that’s super delicate or fussy.

  • Gosh never thought about purple with green. Yet looking at you, it seems the perfect match. Again you turn out a beautiful combination.
