Daily Outfit: 6/29/10

Leopard wrap dress, seamsclassic
Red jade necklace, Bellina
Red bangles, thrifted
Red suede pumps, Tsubo Amset

Here’s an outfit I’ve been planning to wear for at least a week, but somehow conditions were never quite right. Until today!

I love leopard and red together. I feel like it’s a classic combination, and always sassy. But I’m looking for other colors that pair well with this rich, brown leopard print. Any suggestions?

Turquoise, or aqua, if you still want that same pop of brilliance that red gives it. Obviously brown, tan or black if you want to let the pattern be the focal point.

I like a bold teal or turquoise with a classic leopard print. It does the trick like red, but it's something new. Love your dress!

A saturated, yet not too dark, green looks gorgeous with leopard.

    orange!

bright green, just to the blue side of kelly and a few shades lighter! um, that would be turquoise!

I looove love this combination and it's done in such a discreet way, it's very risky to combine leopard print with red because it can be a bit too much, but you did great having the red in little amounts =D awesome outfit, now I'll want to wear something like this too! hehe =D

I also feel that leopard and red is such a classic combo. Lately I've been loving leopard with purple or with yellow.

Adorable! I'm love a traditional leopard print. Very sassy sophisticate.

Mustard yellow, Darker teal, warm browns. Light biege, raspberry, mint green. Metallics of any kind.

Leopard and red are one of my favorite combinations. I also like fuschia and leopard( not that different).

EEEK! I LOVE this outfit. It's got the best of colour and the best of animal print all at the same time. I am mind-blowingly impressed by how you are managing the no-black thing. Something tells me you aren't even struggling through this πŸ™‚

Sally, you look SO hot in this outfit!

I love wearing leopard prints with slightly dark green, too. I'm not very good at describing colors in English, but it's the same I wear here http://bit.ly/9M8HVd, you can get an idea.

but again, maybe the best outfit I've ever seen you in. and I've been following you for ages πŸ˜€

Great dress, Sal. I would pair it with green or yellow (but that's me – I'm normally in one or the other).

iLOVE yellow with leopard, but i think any jewel tone is good. Black bores me, and it is too hard to match the brown…

Oh my goodness, this dress is fantastic!!! I love the pops of red.

I agree with some of the other colors already suggested, teal especially, plum, green..I think anything cool-toned would look great.

Fabulous dress! I love it with the red accessories! I am agreeing with the other commentors – a turquoise would look great I think!

Beautiful, beautiful dress! Red is my favorite with leopard, but bright green and teal are also fun. Really, I feel like everything works with leopard. Everything.

I once had some leopard and COBALT BLUE lingerie. Might be fun, if you own funky cobalt accessories.

Looks terrific on you- I am often self conscious wearing animal print and wear it in very small doses- you look very natural wearing it- would be curious to see what the color suggestions you received look like- maybe a future post and a poll???

Turquoise, bright yellow, emerald green, hot pink. I've done all of those with leopard and they look amazing.

Leopard is a neutral! You can wear anything with it. Except pastels. *shudder*

umm, I'm such a lover of leopard that I view it as a neutral so I vote that any color would go. (though unless we're talking about my leopard flats (which, I have convinced myself, do go with everything), I usually pair it with black brown or tan…)

But, like many previous commenters I say PURPLE! Also Teal/turquoise.

Teal with leopard print! Love that!

Also, good gravy, Miss Sal, you have LOVELY legs! How on earth do you get them to look so good? (not trying to be a creeper – I'm a pale lady too and I feel my legs are marred up with tons of lovely experience scars)

I like to think of classic animal prints like zebra and leopard as neutrals. Then you've got a whole world of delightful insanity available. Teal, violet, hot pink, burgundy, magenta, olive, lime, bronze, gold… I think they could all work. Red is indeed classic, though. =]

Red and leopard — what a classic combo.

I think turquoise would look fantastic. And for fall, a deep orange.
I can't wait to see what your next remix will be of the dress!

That is a great dress! I'm a fan of teal and leopard, however I think that you can pair leopard off with any bold color and get the same effect.

Love it – leopard print and red is always striking.

For something a bit different I also rather like leopard print with pink – I have a tank top in leopard trimmed with baby pink lace. It's like demure yet foxy.

One of my friends calls leopard "New Jersey neutral". I think you can pretty much wear that one with anything except pastels. But the dress is so awesome that it should remain in the spotlight.

So perfect with the red. Other colours might look nice but not as fab as the red. I vote stick to red πŸ™‚

TEAL! I love teal and browns/chocolate.

I actually wore a hot pink/coral top with khaki pants yesterday, and accented it with a leopard belt and shoes, so also hot pink/coral! πŸ™‚

    Love the dress.

Ok love this dress! And you look fabulous in it (not that you don't every day:) – hot pink, turquoise, teal, royal purple, bright orange and the right (not mustard) shade of yellow – I all love with leopard print – I have never tried softer colours with it but maybe a ballet pink in the right outfit??

    You look marvelous!

Like so many have said here, I think leopard looks good with sooo many colors, as long as they are strong ones. It IS a neutral! My favorites include not only vivid, rich green and cobalt as mentioned above, but also alternative shades of red–not just true red as you used (that IS my fave though!) but also burgundy red, deep cherry red, raspberry and rust or sienna. (Those last two can be particularly sumptuous, depending on the shades of cream and brown in the leopard.)

I agree with those who've said not-so-much with the pastels, except purrhaps a rosy pink or, of course, winter white.

I love this outfit! I think it's one of your very best, in fact.
