Random Outfit Roundup: September, Part I

Neon yellow Theory cardi, thrifted at ARC’s Value Village Zebra print strapless dress, eBay Black Tsubo Acreas Bracelet, thrifted Chain drop earrings, self-made

I don’t usually tout the brand names I’ve thrifted, but I can’t help it with this sweater. Theory, people. And might even be current season. $8. Love.

This dress arrived from the eBay vendor with the security tag still attached, and there followed several annoyed e-mails. Eventually, the nice people at Marshall’s removed the tag for me … but I reported the vendor just in case. And sincerely hope I don’t get arrested for wearing a stolen zebra-print dress.

Cowgirl Sal rides again! This is my kinda Casual Friday outfit: A little bit dressy, a little bit funky. If it were an actual weekend, I’d probably pick a less polished-looking denim skirt … but in this iteration, I can head to the office feeling comfy, casual, and chic.

Olive green tee, American Apparel via Yque Suede skirt, thrifted Wood and metal necklace, thrifted Bangle, thrifted Strappy sandals, Dr. Scholl’s

This suede skirt got thrifted back in April, but this outfit was its wearing debut. I still adore my pencil skirts, but am drawn more and more to full skirts, so I feel that this little cutie will get plenty of wear throughout the fall and winter. I love it here with the fitted tee and chunky jewelry, but can totally see it with heavy tights and tall boots, too.

How to style vintage clothes

Couture Allure Vintage Fashion tells me:

OK, you asked for it. I’d love to see you post about incorporating vintage clothing into a stylish wardrobe.

Well, m’dear, I may have asked for it, but YOU’RE gonna get it! I love this request, especially as I think many of us fear attempting incorporation of vintage pieces into our modern, chic wardrobes. We think, “Polyester florals and ratty fringe, gold braid trim and heavy velvet? Not for me, thanks.”
