Already Pretty outfit featuring Echo Designs Times Square scarf, LOFT gray cotton flannel blazer, purple skirt, gray tights, ECCO Sculptured 65 tall boots, Foley + Corinna Jet Set tote

Scarf – Echo Designs Times Square
Blazer – LOFT
Tee (it’s under there!) – Amber Sun (no longer available) – similar color
Skirt – Theory via eBaysimilar
Tights – erg, Target I think – similar color
Boots – ECCO Sculptured 65
Bag – Foley + Corinna Jet Set
Earrings – White Sands Glass

There really is a tee under there. I swear. And it matches the color of that eBayed skirt SO PERFECTLY you’d swear they were made by the same company at the same time instead of years and several price ranges apart. I’ll have to pair them up again when it’s not ridiculously cold so you can marvel along with me.

This scarf is getting loads of wear, and like all of my multicolored scarves, I love how it allows me to bring unexpected pieces together. My kinda tan/kinda yellowish/slightly-orange-in-certain-lights Jet Set picks up the brighter shades in the print, but I can still wear my trusty black ECCO boots since there are bits of black scattered throughout. I’ve been using the fake infinity scarf tie thus far, but am excited to give this braided scarf tutorial a whirl.

Anyone else got a favorite scarf tie? Would love some new ideas!

Lovely. The muted colours of the clothing accurately reflect the cool weather while the scarf and bag provide just the right amount of pop without looking as though they’d be better suited to the summer months.

I love printed scarves for the same reason! Pretty out fit! We have -10 (unusual for us in Ohio) How cold is it in Minnesota?

      -11 right now.

Wonderful colors in that scarf, Sal. Now get inside – it’s cold here in *Florida*! xoxo

Sally, serious question: I live in Central Texas and your outfit wouldn’t be warm enough for me today because of windchill and general coldness. Do you run warmer than average or are these outfits for the shoot and then you go back in and put on warmer clothes? A knit above-the-knee skirt, even with tights, makes me shiver when I see the snow behind you! One good wind draft up that skirt and I’d have to go to the hospital. :)

I know, Anita – we had -50 windchills here yesterday. BRUTAL. Like many people, I work indoors so on any given winter day I will be outdoors for less than 15 minutes total, usually going from car to building. (I am not a bus rider, so no waiting at the stop for me.) When I go outside for something other than a photo shoot, I wear a scarf and down coat. And I actually do get very cold very easily … but my legs are weirdly immune. Well, not immune, but considerably less likely to get cold than my hands or neck.

For what it’s worth, I didn’t wear this yesterday or today. I am not able to shoot and post outfits day-of. But if I had needed to see a client or take a meeting today, this would’ve worked for me. I’m from hardy stock. ;)

Thanks so much for the fake infinity scarf tie trick! I used it today, and can’t believe that I never thought of it myself! I like the way infinity scarves look more than the dangling ends look, and they seem cozier too. On a related note, I got my very first Desigual scarf for Christmas and I love it so much! Thanks for introducing me to that brand! You’ve really upped my scarf game, Sal!
