Already Pretty outfit featuring navy blazer, plum sweater shell, cognac belt, mustard full skirt, plum tights, burgundy boots, Sam Edelman boots

Blazer – Tahari via Opitz - similar
Sweater shell – thrifted – similar
Belt – Gap (had it since high school) – similar
Skirt, Anthropologie (no longer available) - similar
Tights – Target
Boots - Sam Edelman Seraphina
Earrings - Swirly Keen courtesy April Kawaoka

Red will always be my favorite color, but navy, burgundy, and mustard are among the most worn and most versatile in my wardrobe. And I absolutely adore how they look together, a sophisticated and subdued take on the classic primaries.

Is your favorite color your most worn color? Or do you find other colors to be more versatile within the context of your wardrobe?

I wear a lot of blue even though it’s not my favorite color. I don’t actually have a favorite color, but if I did, it’d probably be fuchsia.

I love muted colors (I don’t wear brights at all, come to think of it) and I love this color combination. I have a similar Gap belt I’ve had for at least ten years : > (there was no Gap when I was in High School, I am older than dinosaurs).

I think I have that same Gap belt you are talking about Patti…it looks like the one Sally is wearing, and I’ve worn it almost every day for probably 15 years! Not in as good of shape for sure , but I love it.

My favorite color is green, and I do tend to wear greens a lot. But my most versatile wardrobe color seems to be orange. I wear orange with almost every color.

Great look, and I am once again impressed with your perfectly fitting jacket. How do you do it? Do you alter them or are you an easy to fit size? Finding a jacket that fits well on me is almost as difficult as finding jeans that fit! Great jackets have been on my wish list for ages- partially due to your blog- and I’m going to keep looking because I love how they add presence and polish.

Thank you, SE! I have some jackets that fit better than others, and this one was a definite score. I’m a fairly easy to fit size, though I have broad shoulders and thick upper arms, which can cause some fit issues. I always look for styles that nip in at the waist even when worn unbuttoned. Otherwise blazers just add bulk to my figure.

Have you checked thrift stores for jackets and blazers? There are usually lots of options in loads of styles/cuts and it can be a great place to start if the mall stores aren’t delivering! Good luck in your blazer quest. ;)

Gorgeous, gorgeous colour combination. Green is my favourite colour but not particularly for clothing, I think it is less usual to find clothes I like in tones of green that I like. Even a little green in an outfit is enough to please me. I wear quite a mix of colours, but was just thinking that if I had to choose just one colour to wear all over, all the time, it would still be black (which is what I wore all the time in high school), even though I don’t wear it all that much nowadays. What would you choose if you had to limit your wardrobe to a single colour?

I’d wear blue all the time if I had to limit myself to a single color. If I couldn’t have the entire range of blues and had to pick one shade, it would be cobalt.

One of my best outfits! My favorite color is blue (cobalt blue and the like to be exact) though I can’t seem to get any of them except one sweater.
Keep up the great work, Sally!

Cobalt is my favorite color, and I have a few items, including my fabulous J Crew winter coat; however it seems that other shades of blue are easier to come by. I wear a lot of orange, navy, teal, and turquoise, although I’d never list any of these colors as my absolute favorites.

I’ve been on a quest to find a mustard colored skirt since Sally inspired me. I can’t find one I like. I did try on one at Lane Bryant but it made me look like that Caroll Burnett character with the large derriere.

Burgundy and navy are my favorite combos. I would not have thought to add mustard on my own but as soon as I find that skirt…
