Dressed for: Floral Flourish

Already Pretty outfit featuring burgundy cardigan, mustard dress, rosette belt, burgundy boots, heather gray tights

Cardigan – thrifted – more burgundy cardigans
Dress – Tiana B via Ideeli - similar color (Sierra Gold)
Belt – courtesy Mano Bello
Tights – Banana Republic (no longer available) – similar
Boots -Boots - Sam Edelman Seraphina
Earrings – Heatherly Designs

It’s been ages since I wore this belt, but I wanted to add some cool, dark grays to this warm color mix and it seemed like the perfect finishing touch. With the gunmetal earrings up top, I’ve got three gray items tying the outfit together. In matchy-matchy harmony.

What’s your favorite way to make an outfit feel harmonious?

*Love* the leather flower on that belt! That’s a terrific Etsy store you sent us to, thanks : >

Anytime I try to belt a cardigan or outer layer like that, no matter how sleek it might be, the result is disaster. It manages to make my boobs look saggy and/or my hips look bigger than they are — which is frustrating, because I have a pretty trim middle. I think it’s partly because I have a fairly long torso, which means belting in an area that looks “normal” either hits me too high or too low. But I would welcome any tips on this.

Why have I never worn burgundy and mustard together? What a GORGEOUS combination! Sarah xxx

Very cute! You just gave me a great idea of what to do with the yellow tights that have been languishing in my dresser — thanks!

I think you should always wear mustard yellow. Gorgeous.
