Already Pretty outfit featuring polka dot blazer, black fit and flare dress, Falke ribbed tights, JustFab metallic captoe flats, beaded Peter Pan collar necklace

Blazer – thrifted – similar
Dress – Old Navy (no longer available) – similar
Tights – courtesy Falke (no longer available) similar
Flats – Ellie courtesy JustFab
Collar necklace – eBay (still for sale!)
Earrings – BGB Jewelry
Bracelet - J.Crew (no longer available) -  similar items

I suggested this outfit in a recent StarTribune article about dressing up LBDs for the holidays, and liked it so much I decided to recreate it for a party I was throwing. By myself. In my home office. With my cats and my laptop. I love the idea of party-ready ensembles that include flats – like these – but while this outfit definitely has some fun and festive touches, it’s low-key enough to wear on a workday. Especially since these captoe flats are so cute and comfy.

Heels make anyone’s legs look longer and the whole body look leaner. This isn’t as flattering as the previous jacket/dress/boots combo.

I had the opposite reaction to this photo. I wondered why anyone would wear heels when flats look this cute. I love everything about this look.

I think the jewelry is a great touch of subtle sparkle to a perfectly work-appropriate outfit. Figure if you’ve got a bash at the end of the day, you could just throw on some killer heels and – bam – party!

Happy holidays!

As someone who hails from a pretty wintery place myself, I have NO idea how you can pose outside with no coat on! Kudos tho, you look awesome : )
