*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*
Danielle requested a few picks for winter coats for curvy figures, so here we go:
Side-tab Coat – was $168, now $134
Curves come in many configurations, and if you’ve got a larger bust you might shy away from this coat’s oversized lapels. But the gored, flared lower half and nipped waist are ideal for women with hips and defined waists. Available in this camel, ivory, navy, and black in sizes 0 -14. Size availability varies by color.
DKNY Chevron Quilt Down Coat – was $132, now $108.99
The best down coats incorporate tight quilting near the waist, which defines subtly. This coat looks like it could accomodate both bust and hips, and still offer some figure definition. Available in this ivory in sizes XS – XL. Also comes in dark grey, which is full price, in sizes XS – XL.
Jessica Simpson 3/4 Length Down Coat – was $215, now $130
Belts can be life-savers on some curvy bods, but they can wreak havoc on others. This down coat features an elastic cinched back waist instead, which defines without squeezing and subdividing. Available in this black, ivory, and navy in sizes S – XL.
Nicole Miller Architectural Wool Twill Coat – was $265, now $238.99
This fully lined wool coat also features that desirable subtle shaping – flared skirt, relatively roomy bodice, and nipped waist. The structured seaming and inset waist complement the coat’s fit-and-flare silhouette, and the natural V created by the flaps is a flattering feature. Available in sizes 4 – 16.

- Nordstrom – So many gorgeous options at a variety of price points. This hooded down walking coat looks dynamite.
- The North Face – I traded in my Metropolis for a different style eventually, but it’s a great shaped parka and a staple for many MN residents. And this beloved brand has loads of great insulated options with shaping.
