Insomniac Sale Picks: Plus-sized Sequin Tops

*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Jen requested a few picks for plus-sized sequin tops, so here we go:

Anne Klein 3/4 Sleeve V-Neck Sequin Tunic – was $139, now $56.99

Loads of sequin tops are sleeveless, which means they can be layered for winter wear but also makes them trickier to style. This tunic offers more coverage and warmth for holiday parties. Pair it with slim-fitting gray or burgundy pants and heels for a gorgeous evening look. Available in sizes 0X – 3X.

MICHAEL Michael Kors Cap Sleeve Sequin Drape Top
– was $99.50, now $44.99

This top looks black, but is actually a deep chocolate brown. (The same top comes in black and gold, but is available in limited sizes.) With these tiny cap sleeves you could wear the top alone in a warmer climate, or layer with a sleek blazer or cozy cashmere cardigan. This top features sequins on the front only, so bear that in mind when considering for purchase and styling. Available in sizes 1X – 3X in this color, 1X and 2X in black, 1X – 3X in gold.

Denim 24/7 Sequin Glam Tank – was $39.99, now $19.99 – $24.99

This tank is a bargain, which may mean it’s not top quality … but it comes in gold, silver, white, green, red, and black in sizes M – 5X! This tank is also sequin-free on the back, so you’d likely want to layer for party-going. In warmer climates, a pretty wrap would look lovely with this sparkly top.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for plus-sized sequin tops:

  1. Amazon – Tanks, boleros, sweaters, tees, jersey knits with sequin embellishments, and more. So many sequin-y options!
  2. Zappos – Only 14 plus-sized options, but they are all SO PRETTY.
  3. Bloomingdale’s – Another small but gorgeous collection.
  4. Torrid – Trendy and a little racy, but some really cute offerings. Many would work beautifully with a simple jacket.

I’m not a big fan of sequins, I don’t know why, maybe because of what you mentioned about how difficult they are to style, or maybe because most that I have owned have been very uncomfortable. They look pretty, though :)

Last week I bought a black shirt, the sleeves are like number2 photo, but the back and front are chiffon and sequins are starting to bust up, leaving the back and top of the chest free, Similar to this one:

but with pic # 2 sleeves lengths. I love it I’m more that happy with my purchase, the only con I fund is that some sequins have been left on the seam on the inside under the armpit and they are very uncomfortable, but nothing a pair of scissors can not fix. My only advise is to try it, and so al the movement you usually do, a small friction is nothing, but when multiplied can ruin the night. I wore it with a black blazer, dark blue jeans and beige wedge shoes. (If you break a rule, brake them all)
