Insomniac Sale Picks: Flattering Rain Coats

*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Heather requested a few picks for flattering rain coats, so here we go:

Calvin Klein Packable Rain Coat – was $164, now $98.40

“Packable” generally means “lightweight,” and this model doesn’t appear to be lined. But for temperate climates and warmer weather, it’s a fabulous option with subtle shaping and understated details. Virtually no hardware, dark pockets that sit flat, and a gentle a-line shape. Available in sizes XS – XL.

Via Spiga Fall Rain Coat – was $200, now $159.99

This version IS lined, so it’ll fare better in colder rainy weather. Heather isn’t a huge fan of traditional trenches, but this single-breasted, belted design might work better on her frame. It features a stand collar, shoulder epaulets, sleeve tabs, a tie belt, and side entry pockets with decorative button down pocket flaps. Available in this gray and black in sizes XS – XL.

Columbia Dusk2Dawn Jacket – was $250, now $164.29

A slightly sportier, but still sleek and chic option this Columbia coat is the warmest pick of the evening. The soft, textured shell includes Omni-Tech construction that’s waterproof, breathable, and fully seam sealed to prevent the elements from finding their way in. Inside, Omni-Heat thermal reflective technology provides heat retention. And it’s designed to curve in at the waist and flare a bit over the hips. Available in this dark gray and a pale gray in sizes S- XL. (Dark gray sold out in S.)

Soia & Kyo Packable Hooded Anorak – was $135, now $90.45

And at the opposite end of the spectrum, here’s a truly lightweight rain jacket. Even thinner than the CK option above, this option is best for warm rains. The adjustable toggles can cinch the waist and snap tabs allow you to roll the sleeves. Available in this red and black in sizes XS- XL. (Sizing runs very small, check the chart.)

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for flattering rain coats:

  1. Nordstrom – Belted, shaped, lined, and a huge variety of colors and lengths.
  2. Macy’s – Lots of fun options, and many of them real bargains. Especially this week! My own raincoat is DKNY and similar to this darling one.
  3. Zappos – From sporty to sophisticated, all the bases are covered.

Very cute rain jackets BUT living in the rainy Seattle weather I can tell you what most of them are missing…a hood! A must have in all rain/winter coats. :) it’s one of my pet peeves.

    Cute!

Although this might be a bit too similar to some of your recent sale picks, I was wondering if you could look for coloured, flared, long (34” or similar) corduroys?

  • Katrina

Oh my gosh, any suggestions for where I can find a reasonably priced rain jacket with a jersey lining? I’m in love with the idea but the last time I owned one it was probably 1997!
