Lovely Links: 10/5/12

I am OVER THE MOON to report that The Huffington Post published a slideshow of images from my book this week! Huge thanks to the bloggers who contributed photos and who are featured in the slideshow.

Also, I had another question about the Kindle version of my book this week, so just a quick reminder:
My book is available in print, for Kindle, and for Nook!

Don’t forget to enter the Lee Jeans giveaway before Sunday night!

I adore the look of a statement necklace tucked under the collar of a button-front shirt.

Not sure why there have been so many Muppet/fashion tie-ins lately, but here’s another for ya: The Coveteur explores Miss Piggy’s most stylish moments.

Elissa rocks the sparkle out of a vintage sequined blouse.

This week, Beyond the Rack – one of the many online sample sale sites – launched a section dedicated to plus size style. And they’re giving Already Pretty readers $10 in credit to kick things off! Just click through to see the site and get your credit.

Many people sent me this video in which a LaCrosse news anchor responds to an e-mail that tells her she is a poor role model because of her weight. The Fat Nutritionist’s response is pretty stellar, too.

I do love monochrome outfits, and this pretty purple ensemble is no exception.

Jump From Paper makes bags and satchels that look 2D, but are actually 3D. Like a reverse trompe l’oeil. Check out the Dainty Squid with hers.

Ha HA! The New York Times is asking if trends are passé. I love it. Fashion is changing at quite a clip these days.

Megan looks like a total badass in this outfit, featuring a hip-slung belt.

Pulitzer prize winning journalists Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn have turned their book Half The Sky into an incredibly moving and inspiring documentary. They believe that the key to economic progress lies in unleashing women’s potential. Yes to THAT.

I’m not the only one who is feeling excited to wear gobs of color with the changing of the seasons: Nicolette’s outfit is a virtual color explosion!

“The privilege of the runway gives the fashion industry the power to appropriate entire cultures, reducing them to racist stereotypes. No other industry makes use of such stereotypes in the name of ‘art’ quite as often as fashion seems to.”

I shared some tips on making maxis work for fall and winter at the Star Tribune.

The Freelancer rocks a very vintage look that combines red, purple, and plaid.

Huffington Post editor extraordinaire Anya Strzemien has is launching a project exploring style outside the fashion capitals of New York and L.A. First stop: New Mexico.

And from the Department of Random: MARSUPIAL TRIFECTAAAAAAA!!! Oh my goodness, I just wanna squeeze Peggy the Wombat.
