Insomniac Sale Picks: Sleeveless Leather Moto Vests

*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Tina requested a few picks for sleeveless leather moto vests, so here we go. Actually, first, this one was REALLY TOUGH, so size selection isn’t the best. See below for non-sale options, which offer broader choices:

Urban Code Leather Gilet With Star Studs – was $436.92, now $181.08

That star might not be for everyone, but I’ll tell you right now that I adore it. Most of the studs are round, but a few at the star tips are star-shaped. Fun without being twee. The vest itself is 100% leather with copper hardware and features those classic moto flaps when unzipped. Available in US sizes 4, 6, 8, and 12.

Vero Moda Very Leather Gilet – was $241.44, now $137.97

A much plainer but still eye-catching option, this vest has an asymmetric zip, four zip pockets in front, d-ring adjusters to the sides, and a fabulously sassy cropped length. Available in US sizes 6 – 12.

Barneys Originals Studded Leather Gilet – was $206.95, now $146.59

Another embellished option, this one a little less obvious. This guy features a notch collar with all-over metal stud embellishment extending to the yoke, side zip closure, twin zipped chest pockets, flap and jet pockets, and a press stud fastening to the hem. The flap and jet pockets are placed asymmetrically, which is such a cool detail. Available in US sizes 4 – 10.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for sleeveless leather moto vests:

  1. eBay – This is where I’d look if I were in the market. Faux and real leather options in hundreds of sizes and styles.
  2. Urban Outfitters – Admittedly, this is the only moto vest on the site now. But believe me, if anyone is going to stock this garment over time, it’s UO.
  3. Leather Cult – I found this vendor through a Pinterest pin and haven’t ordered from them myself … yet! But everything is custom, and they have loads of gorgeous and affordable vests.
  4. Etsy – Options both used and handmade!

  • I want those faux-garter belt tights from the third picture. Which I know isn’t the focus of this post at all, but still…WOW!

My request for a future Insomniac Sale Picks post: Tops that bridge the gap between casual and dressy. I’m looking for simple, stand-alone pieces that would be dressier than T-shirts, stuff I could use to dress up jeans or a simple skirt for, say, drinks with friends.
