I don’t have a lot of pieces in my wardrobe that I’d describe as “architectural,” but this years-old custom dress certainly fits that description. It’s made from a sturdy cotton that keeps its shape, but also conforms to mine. And I still just love the ruffle detailing!

Are you a fan of angular or architectural clothing design?

  • Hi, Sally –

I LOVE this look – the dress’ angles are fantastic! You look fabulous! I don’t really have clothing that has architectural details, but I would definitely consider if the piece looked all right on my body shape.

  • I didn’t know if I was a fan of architectural clothing, but I am wowed by this dress! You look like a million bucks, fresh out of the mint.

  • Copy Czarina

    Great look!

I love architectural clothing. I’m extremely curvy–not an angle anywhere–but anything unstructured makes me feel sloppy. I love very structured 1940s looks.

  • Yes. I LOVE this look. And the haircut seems perfectly in place.

  • I am a fan of simple lines in a dress and I very much admire this one–it’s sharp looking. I suspect the dress is also versatile, depending on the details you add.

  • I love structured clothing, especially angular and assymetrical. Not sure if they exist in the US, but Marks and Spencers do these amazing dresses with internal structuring for a total bombshell figure. They’re genius!

  • Such a pretty look, cute belt!

  • LOVE this dress Sally! I have a few pieces like that, thanks for the reminder to get them out of storage for autumn! xo

  • Outstanding! I love clothes with a bit of weight to them, a bit of sturdiness in the fabric, but anything like this I have tried on just make me look, well, unlike myself. Perhaps I just haven´t found my perfect match.
