Dressed for: Double Duty

Already Pretty outfit featuring printed Desigual scarf, black jersey dress, magenta Frye Carson Pull-on boots

Scarf, Desigual (no longer available) - more Desigual
Black dress, thrifted – similar
Boots - Frye Carson Pull-On
Bracelets, Bibelot - similar look
Earrings, courtesy Metalicious

This is yet another outfit that I wore while in New York and re-created upon my return. I actually wore this on my flight out, then again when I appeared on Fox9 News last week. This dress actually has a scandalously low deep-v neckline, so the scarf is there both for decoration and for boob-concealment. Double duty. Well played, scarf.

“Well-played scarf” indeed. It’s not only gorgeous, it’s a hard-worker. Like it’s owner. You look lovely, Sal.

Well played :-) I’m also a fan of using scarves to hide cleavage-revealing tops. I find it especially useful on days that I’m going straight from work to a party or out with friends – my ideal neckline for a party is a bit lower than that for work, so I just take off the scarf at the end of the workday.

Also, I love your boots, and how they bring out the same beautiful color from your scarf.

Thought of you in the Houston airport, of all places, when I came across a store that had a plenitude of Desigual items. If you ever find yourself in Concourse C at Bush International Airport in Houston, you’ll know what to do…

I visited Spain a few years ago and fell in love with Desigual, alas it does not come in plus sizes. I had not thought of getting a beautiful Desigual scarf, thanks for the idea. I know several people have mentioned it, but I must add my voice to theirs in saying how inspiring your blog has been to me. I’m turning fifty (she said in a very tiny voice) next month and had pretty much decided I had missed the fashion boat. I’ve always been heavy and kept the wardrobe mostly to darker colors and plain. But this year I have truly blossomed and have been adding brights, cool shoes, jingly earrings and stacks of bracelets. This Fall I’m working on adding patterns and scarves (or maybe patterns with scarves). Thank you for your inspiration.
