Sunday Shoes: Kickers Gladiator Sandals

These Kickers Lilou sandals are a hoot. Iridescent red gladiators with dangly bits. Not exactly my most versatile summer shoes! But since they were a generous gift from the Kickers folks, I am more than happy to see how many funky boho outfits I can craft around them this summer. I’ve got a few maxi dresses that could benefit from an eye-catching pair of sandals …

Love those shoes! I’m excited to see how you style them. I’m a huge fan of red shoes, and these look perfect for summer.

I like gladiators. They’re a staple in my closet.

Cute. I don’t really like it when shoes cut me off at the ankle though, I feel like it makes my legs look shorter. I don’t know if that is a legit thing or not.

I really, really, reallyreallyreally want gladiator sandals that go all the way up to my knees. When gladiator shoes were really popular for a little while I saw some, didn’t jump on the opportunity, and now they have all vanished back into the mists of time or whatever. Leaving me to quietly regret my foolish emphasis on practicality (I’m still not sure when I would wear them, but I feel like if I had them I would totally make it work somehow).

Yep, shoes that end at the ankle visually shorten the leg, especially if they are relatively closed below the ankle. I bet tall gladiators are still out there … don’t give up hope, Anna!

Not versatile? Maybe it’s just my wardrobe, but I feel like they’d go with practically everything.

I am the opposite of Anna, I love ankle straps/ankle height because I feel like it balances my thin ankles and emphasizes them instead of the awkward place on my foot.

Different strokes for different folks. ^_~
