Dress, vintage dirndl – more vintage dirndls
Tank, Old Navy ages ago – similar
Magenta flats, thrifted – similar
Earrings, Infrared Studio
Bracelets, Bibelot - similar look
Fox ring, Michael Tatom
The black pattern on this vintage dirndl has always tripped me up and I’ve only ever paired it with black before. It looks fun and funky, but also might stark and dark. I finally convinced myself that the pattern was just another design element and a contrasting color would work. I went with magenta and added some light silver jewelry.

I love it! And it looks like you do too!
OMG I love this outfit! If I could replicate it at this very moment I would!
This is one of those outfits I absolutely love because I could absolutely see myself wearing it.
Oh Sal I just LOVE those two shades of purple together!! Plus I’m a sucker for that style of dress, I think it’s a flattering shape on so many body shapes. You look so lovely and summery

Sal, I love your vintage dirndl — such a great color and style. You look so happy in these photos!
I really like the blending of purples, and the accent color of the shoes. The DV shoes you linked to look soooo cute in that raspberry/magenta color, too.
Oh, I LOVE this with the magenta! It looks absolutely gorgeous! I would do it with turquoise or even a pale yellow too!
Very cute!
I’m so glad you decided to pair this dress with brights because it is FAB-u-LOUS! Seriously, Sal, this is amazing.
this is summer perfection! I love it! I have wanted a dirndl for years … this isn’t helping =)
Two of my favorite colors!!!! Love them so much together. Great outfit!
Love this look! That dress is super cute on you, and you look super cute in it. It’s the perfect match!
I love purple! This is such a refreshing shade of it.
Perfect! I love the lighter look for this dirndl; that lavender color just begs to be summery.
Absolutely brilliant choice!
Woooorks! Love it!
Absolutely gorgeous colour combination. I bet it would also be lovely going the other direction on the spectrum, with periwinkle or sky blue, as well as with other purples. And if you are feeling adventurous, how about with mustard or chartreuse? Yellows to complement the purple. You look wonderful, and I am jealous of that dirndl!
Oh yeah…the magenta pairs magnificently!
It’s funny how something so simple as a little black can trip us up eh? I love the colour you chose to pair with it, but I bet it would look really great with yellow too!
