So, I wrote this book, right? And I totally planned to spill the beans about it AGES ago, but timing of layout and printing did all sorts of unexpected twists and turns so I couldn’t. Until now. And it’ll be available for sale next week. SURPRISE!
The book is titled Already Pretty: Learning to Love Your Body by Learning to Dress It Well and I’ve been working on it for a little over two years. I still can’t quite believe that the journey is over. After weighing various publishing options, I chose to do it all via CreateSpace and am extremely pleased with the results. Selecting this path allowed me to have total creative control to execute my vision for the book, and made it possible for me to present my ideas exactly as I wished. It was incredibly rewarding to handle everything from writing to photo choice to layout design myself, and I’m excited to finally nudge this project out of the nest.
Like the PDF that I launched way back in 2011, the book is basically a self-guided makeover. But it’s longer and more in-depth and it’s got PHOTOS! The book is packed with enlightening exercises, mix-and-match figure flattery techniques, and effective tutorials that illustrate how personal style can foster self-love and self-respect.
Here’s a rough outline of the steps that Already Pretty suggests: After determining your current personal style and evaluating pieces from your existing wardrobe, you’re taught to define your ideal style – a process that includes identifying personalized figure-flattery priorities. These priorities are tailored to your preferences and your unique body, and may be quite different from the style mandates parroted by fashion industry insiders. Working through this process moves you closer to your fashion aspirations, ultimately allowing you to merge your current and ideal styles through careful culling of your current wardrobe and targeted shopping for new, key pieces.
