Sunday Shoes: Black Round-toe Pumps

by Sal on March 4, 2012 · 11 comments

I nabbed these recently on Ideeli when I realized that my mainstay dressy black shoes were Mary Janes. I mean, they’re funky Mary Janes, but I feel like there’s something more formal about a true pump. And I had a few outfits in mind that called for a true pump. So I applied some credits and ordered these. They’re Etienne Aigner and my ideal heel height and toe shape.

So nice to know I’m not the only one left who loves a round-toed shoe. Those are very pretty.

I love Etienne Aigner, and I love the classics. But I’ve just not been able to get into the round toe pumps. I still prefer the look of a modest pointed toe, and preferably with a bit of toe cleavage. Perhaps it’s because on petite women, these cuts elongate the legs whereas the round toe does not.

That said, I’m not going in for any of the monster platform shoes!

Love to see what you do with those since no matter how I try I feel like a silly school girl when I wear a round toe pump. They are oh so much more comfy but I still need my point to feel all grown up ;-) Just can’t rock my sexy with the round toe.. so very sad.

I adore round toe pumps and it’s difficult to find them in this simple style. The heel on these is higher than I would ever wear (I like my heels under 2″) but the toe is absolutely perfect.
