Dressed for: The City by the Bay

Black sweater, thrifted – similar
Floral pants, Talbots
Flats, Elath courtesy Tsubo (no longer available) – similar
Earrings, HSokol

We left behind snow and slush, and although we arrived in San Francisco to cold temps and blowing rain, it soon cleared out and left us with sunshine. This is likely the first time the tops of my feet have been exposed since September. When I planned out my outfits for this trip, I’d packed a long black necklace for this outfit. I forgot to wear it. Bah.

It was such a gorgeous day that I actually bought a pair of sandals! Didn’t wear ‘em, but still. I’m already missing the warm rays on Audi‘s front deck.

I’m glad you got a warm day. I’ve been there several times in the past few years and have been chilly and cold each time. It’s always a shock to me as I mistakenly expect it to be warm in California.

Welcome to my weather-related fashion challenges! Say, did you line up for the Desigual give-away?

These floral trousers are just gorgeous, Sally… I’ve just ordered some jeans in a similar floral on dark background myself! Love them!

Hi Sal,
I haven’t commented in awhile but I just had to break my silence to weigh in on these pants. Hmmmm, I’m thinking it’s not a good look for you. It’s veering dangerously into old lady territory. Maybe there’s something I’m missing here. I am a great fan of your blog and your style but I just had to raise a small caution flag on this one.

Awww, well I love ‘em to death, and floral/printed pants are a big trend this season! To each her own.

Welcome to San Francisco!! ;)

Which neighborhoods did you visit?
BTW, if you’re ever looking for a yummy restaurant in the Noe Valley area, I highly recommend Toast – It’s down the street from the Whole Foods and has the best diner food ever created (burgers, salads, breakfasts, etc.).

Enjoy your visit! :)

Well, wave toward the east bay and I’ll way back! Have fun. We are expecting some wet stuff, but compared to where you live, it’ll be nothin!

I’m in love with your floral pants! I’ve been seeing a version of these on all my fav bloggers lately, which means I need a pair myself.

The warm rays apparently miss you too Sal, as they have made way for rain clouds. And our deck doesn’t look nearly as cute without you on it!

AAAHHHH, I was hoping that if you ever came to SF, I could nab you for a wardrobe consult (of course if you had a long enough trip to work AND play!!! Well I sure hope there is a next time!! And you caught beautiful weather! I hear pouring rain is due the balance of this week… though we have heard it before this winter/spring, and nothing has appeared!

It’s invigorating, bringing out—and wearing—Spring things a bit early! You look wonderful. So what if you forgot the necklace!

What are your tips for wearing pants with a busy pattern like that, but make it so they don’t make thighs look big (an area of mine I”m not so comfortable with). I want to try those kind of pants but am fearful of it not turning out well.

Sue, how do you do with long cardigans? If you do a slim-fitting patterned pant with a long cardigan, it’ll create that long-over-lean silhouette and draw attention away from your thighs. Would that work for you? http://www.alreadypretty.com/2012/01/how-to-do-long-over-lean.html

You got your hair cut again, didn’t you? I like the more angular lines a lot.
