Sunday Shoes: John Fluevog Adriana Luna Boots

As you all know, I’m madly in love with these boots. Madly, madly, madly. They are comfortable, cool, and fit like a dream due in part to a shaft that fits close to my calf and a top buckle that allows me to cinch them even further. Also a huge fan of the weathered leather finish, which makes them extremely winter-friendly. They’re like a sleeker, taller, more urban version of my Frye Harness boots, and have been getting loads of wear this winter.

These are beautiful and perfect. I love the toe shape, love the heel height, love them love them love them.

Off to search ebay to see if I can find them for cheaper than the website!

Those are some seriously cool boots. One of the few things I dislike about living in Florida is that it gives me approximately zero opportunity to wear cool boots like this.

I was out riding with a friend of mine the other day. She said she wanted to save up some money and go down to S.F.to buy a pair of Louboutins I told her I’d go with her but I’d rather get a pair of Fluevogs. I might have to start a change jar for a pair.

I love these boots and follow the link to the Fluevog site every time you wear them. Thinking I might pull the trigger on the black ones, but I was wondering if you have any opinion on the fit. I normally wear a 7.5 in regular shoes or a 7 in Frye boots. Would you say they run TTS or more generously like the Frye Harness boots? Thanks for your input and I enjoy reading your blog each morning while sipping coffee.

Thanks for your kind words, Jenn! I am a size 8 and took an 8 in these, but it’s always a good idea to contact/call Fluevog to ask for a professional opinion. They’re VERY friendly and would love to get you in the right size. Also they run pretty narrow in the calf.

Jenn,
I bought these boots at the Fluevog store in San Francisco and I love them!
They only come in whole sizes (I am an 8 in shoes but buy boots and athletic shoes in 8.5 to accommodate thick socks)

After trying 8 and 9, I went with the 9s and I’m glad I did–not sloppy at all, but room for wool socks and an orthotic

Thanks Mary! I typically order up in boots to allow for thick socks too, but I feel like Frye boots allow for that in my usual size, so I wasn’t sure with Fluevog. It is so hard to decide when ordering online. My thought was to go for the 8s but I think I will take Sal’s suggestion and run it by a Fluevog SA before I place the order button. It’s so disappointing when you love what you ordered but chose the wrong size and then have to wait for the long exchange process before you can finally wear the item!

Thanks so much! I will definitely call before ordering. The narrow calf will work well for me. The only thing that has held me back is the shaft height. I’m 5’3″ and even though I have long legs for my height, certain tall boots cut me at a strange place on the leg and I feel stumpy. I guess the only way to know for sure is to try them on! Thanks again! -Jenn
