Insomniac Sale Picks: Blazers

*In this late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Kate K requested a few picks for blazers, so here we go:

Gap Two-button Blazer – was $98, now $44.99

Since Kate is just looking for good blazers, we’ll start with a classic. I personally do better with a one-button style, but this two-button version still has a nice deep V and great shaping. It’s lined and has a back vent for easy movement. Available in sizes 0 to 14, as well as a few in petite and tall sizes.

ASOS Blazer In Heritage Check with Elbow Patches – was $116.38, now $81.47

This sassy little cropped blazer has so many cute details. Obviously, the elbow patches are incredibly fun, but I’m also loving the tipped pockets and contrasting button. Comes in this blue/green tweed as well as a brown/camel tweed, and between the two they cover sizes 8 – 14.

Calvin Klein Pocket Blazer – was $99.50, now $84.58 with code PRES

Gah, what a gorgeous color! This tomato red, deep-V blazer is both fully lined and machine washable. It’s a great option for spring, but this style and color are both fabulous for year-round wear. Available in sizes 2-16, as well as petite 2 – 14.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for blazers:

  1. Talbots – Always a good bet for office wear of any sort, but they’ve got some particularly cute blazers right now. This one comes in so many lovely colors! (Reminder: Talbots has plus, petite plus, tall, and petite sizes.)
  2. Urban Outfitters – I was surprised to find a wide variety of colors and styles on this retailer’s website, including cropped, fitted, oversized, and color-blocked.
  3. Ann Taylor and LOFT – Both stores offer lots of materials and colors, although styles tend to be in the suiting realm more than arty or deconstructed. Both carry regular, petite, and tall sizes, too.

Here’s a request: I have been looking for a vest that fits FOREVER. I want a nice waistcoat type vest to wear I lieu of a jacket come nice weather. Plus size, I guess, although my body on top is more bodaciously curvy than truly plus sized. I found one with a peplum hem that just fit my boobs the other day at a thrift store, but it was such a nasty polyester I couldn’t imagine myself ever wearing.

  • I’ve been wanting some bold colored blazers, so the Calvin Klein one is certainly calling my name!

I forgot Urban Outfitters had an online store! They have cute things but they’re always so overpriced. The quality isn’t any higher than a forever 21 but the price is doubled.

I’ll second Shaye’s vest request, I can’t seem to find cute ones.

Thanks Sal! That first Gap blazer is just what I was looking for! And that Calvin Klein is lovely.

I am always looking for tops (blazers, sweaters, jackets, t-shirts, etc.) that are slightly fitted and then flared over the hips and stomach. I don’t think I’m that disproportionate, just curvy with a poochy stomach, but it’s hard to find clothes that don’t stretch unattractively over my hips and belly or hike up in back when I lean over and then stand up.

Just trying not to look like a wide load.
