I originally tried pairing black opaques with these white faux snakeskin pumps in this outfit, thinking the black and white of the scarf would tie everything together. But, in the end, a darker shoe worked better.

The idea stuck, though, and I love how the abstract houndstooth print in this skirt and speckled texture of the shoes play off one another here.

  • I’ll admit I have a hard time getting used to lighter shoes with darker tights, but that’s probably just decades of conditioning. 😉 I really love that scarf!!!

  • Like this look a lot and I especially like the way you tied the scarf….fabulous shoes!

  • That’s a really cool skirt! I also love the shoes.

  • That’s a lovely skirt. I like the unpredictable addition of the colourful scarf.

What another wonderful outfit. This and the green skirt one have really stood out to me. I like the use of the colored scarf in an otherwise basic balck and white ensemble.

  • I love the slightly retro look of the full skirt and fitted sweater, Sal – and the shoes and scarf are grrrreat!

  • This whole outfit is perfect. So classy!

    XOXO, Lindsey

This is an OT question, but I’ve always wondered–when there’s a gap between the back of the shoe (especially pumps) and your heel, how do you walk without your heel slipping out?

    • Sal

      Inserts help!

  • Very classy! Love the shoes! xxx

That skirt is just wonderful, and the pumps might have been made for it.
