Insomniac Sale Picks: Statement Jewelry

*In this new late-night feature – which will run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week – I’ll gather up three fun items that are currently on sale online and share them with you! I would LOVE suggestions: Stylish wide-width pumps? Classic v-necked sweaters? Chandelier earrings? Petite dress slacks? What would you like to see featured?*

Jen requested a few picks for statement jewelry, so here we go:

Alfani Adjustable Sculpted Ring – was $24, now $11.99

What a beaut. Chunky rings can get overwhelming, but this one strikes a great balance between “statement” and “sophistication.” Would spice up an office outfit, or work beautifully a dressier occasion. The photo doesn’t show it, but this ring is listed as being adjustable to fit most sizes.

Kenneth Cole New York Urban Christmas Bib Necklace – was $135, now $72.90

In my experience, bib necklaces that have a bit of give to them AND fall in a naturally triangular shape are the most comfortable and versatile. They fit into most necklines and draw the eye down just a bit for a more flattering look. I have a bracelet that’s similar to this design – clusters of rhinestone-like gems – and I just adore it. In fact, this specific necklace has been on my Amazon wishlist for months! 20″ long.

J.Crew Jumbo link bracelet – was $42, now $29.99
PLUS an additional 20% off with code SHOPNOW

Chunky bracelets can be uncomfortable, but this little guy will be more flexible than most due to its link-based design. The metal links themselves are coated brass in a color that will look equally great with gold or silver pieces. Also comes in a purple-y blue. 7″ long.

Other not-currently-on-sale resources for statement jewelry:

  1. Etsy – Most of my jewelry hails from Etsy. Statement pieces galore. You can even collaborate with an artisan to design your own!
  2. Karin Jacobson – Karin designed two of my rings, several of my favorite pairs of earrings, and I regularly drool over her wares. Be sure to check out her chunky cocktail rings.
  3. And, of course, THRIFT STORES! Big, funky jewelry is actually more common at thrift stores than the more delicate stuff. Cuffs, bib necklaces, even big rings can be found. (thethriftshopper.com can help you locate stores near you.)

  • That’s a fab bracelet (and one of my favorites broke yesterday). I like it in the azure blue as well . . . decisions!

  • I have a very similar statement necklace that I got from Ann Taylor last winter. You’re right, the loose way it hangs and the triangular shape make it versatile for dressing up or down.
