HM and I drove down to visit my parents for the Thanksgiving holiday, and I’ve gotten my days pretty mixed up but this outfit is DEFINITELY from … sometime that weekend. Probably the day we visited the Fluevog store and I bought these boots because I couldn’t resist wearing them that same day. It’s true love, I tell ya.
Scarf, thrifted – similar items
Dress, Target (no longer available) – similar style
Leggings, Old Navy
Boots, Indigo by Clarks Proctor - a few pairs on eBay
Bracelet, thrifted – similar
I look a little ill in this photo due to extremely strange lighting, but just had to throw it in there. For family reasons, we have our Thanksgiving meal out and this was in the lobby of the schmancy hotel where we dined. I like to call this photo, “French sailor wannabe in space.”
Hoodie, Prairie Underground Long Cloak Hoodie
Top, Boden (no longer available)
Ponte pants, via eBay - similar
(same brand)
Boots, John Fluevog Heidi
I wore this for the drive down and the drive home, just swapped out shirts. Marvelously comfy, but chic enough that I didn’t feel self-conscious at the various pit stops. Ideal road tripping ensemble!

I think the same way about dressing for travel that you do – and it’s been discussed many times on your blog, but I still have to echo it.
There’s a pair of dark wash, super-stretch jeans from Loft I love that are super comfy for the plane, train, or automobile, and that still retain their shape even after six hours sitting down. Plus I still look somewhat sharp in them at the rest stop, stepping into a trucker haven for pretzels and a Vitamin Water.
oooh, i love the scarf tie in the second photo. totally sweet and inspiring. (i have broad/square shoulders that look good in halter styles, but of course can’t do those so much in winter – i might try that scarf style and see if it creates a similar effect.)
are these the types of outfits you wear on your work-from-home days, now that you are so wonderfully self-employed? i work from home quite a lot – trying to balance my new craving for style with my desire to stay in my PJs.
Jenni, I’m still posting daily outfits and these are a bit more casual than what I wear most days when I work from home … but close!
All very comfy-looking! I finally sprung for a Prairie Underground Long Cloak Hoodie. As painful as the price was, I’m so glad to have it. Every time I wear it (which is a lot) it makes me feel incredibly happy!
Hurrah! So glad you love it.
Oh I love, love your new Flue’s! And thanks so much for helping me get into Pinterest – it’s a huge, wildly fun time-sucker, and I am having a blast collecting boots. Guess which pair is going to be pinned next? : >
I have bought two Prairie Underground hoodies after seeing the first one on your blog (one light blue cloak, one purple long hoodie). Is it wrong that now I want a red one? and the dark blue one is really cute? and possibly a green one? or black? This is why I need to win the lottery.
I wore the blue one for my long T-Day drives (Chicago to Omaha and back). Best travel-wear ever. They really are amazing
Now I’m jealous of your vogs. Back to stalking ebay…
I drop by your blog infrequently so your current hairstyle is new to me; and I have to say I LOVE IT.
OMG those brown Fluevogs are stunning. I want them so much! Maybe in the distant future. I like that the ankle is so snug – so flattering. Do you know the calf circumference on the boots? It’s not listed at the website.
14″, I believe
I’m jealous of your boots. Jealous!
My favorite outfit is the first one, but I sigh when I see J Jill. None of the clothing I’ve tried from J Jill or own flatters my body that much. I like the look of it, but when I try it on I feel frumpy.
