Already Pretty outfit featuring plaid shirtdress, red blazer, Jessica Simpson Angie boots, red tights, chocolate brown belt

Red blazer, thrifted – similar
Plaid dress, Land’s End Canvas (no longer available) – similar style
Red tights, Express
Boots, Jessica Simpson Angie - a few pairs on eBay
Belt, Banana Republic (no longer available) – similar shape, similar color
Earrings, don’t remember – similar

Oh, don’t worry. The snow will be back. Just hoping it’ll wait until after the weekend to make another appearance …

I do believe I tried on at least six complete outfits before settling on this. Come to think of it, everything I did today had to be done six times before it felt finished. Maybe whoever is editing my life keeps kicking me back to “draft.”

Anyhoo, this blazer was yet another recent thrifting triumph. I had thrifted a different red blazer years ago, but it was boxy and unflattering and got very little use, so I donated it back over the summer. This jersey knit blazer is lined, fitted, and has such darling riding-coat details that I actually squealed when I saw it waiting patiently for me there on the ARC racks. Got some weird looks. Didn’t care.

I love this outfit on you. Did you hem the skirt of the dress to make it that length? I have really loved slightly longer lengths on you, but this outfit is so perfect on you–the colors, the style, with your hair and I could go on and on.

Nope, the Land’s End Canvas stuff is generally cut pretty short. It came like this!

Ack! Awesome! What a fabulous find. The sheer brightness of this outfit is wonderful–the amount of color makes the traditional pieces totally current. I’ve seen a lot of versions of shirtdress/blazer, and most of them make me snooze–this is fabulous!

Fabulous outfit! The proportions for everything are perfect! I had also wondered whether you’d shortened the dress, because it hits you at JUST the right length. (and if you took this photo by yourself, congrats! It’s a good one!)

Adorable! I’m glad I’m not the only one who squeals like a crazy person over thrifting finds. People always give me the side eye for awhile after I find a triumph!

You super-scored with the red jacket, Sal! And of course the boots are out-of-this-world good.

I know I don’t often comment, but DAMN! That outfit is darling. It’s like a modern 70s prep school girl.

Sal, you look absolutely gorgeous! I LOVE this outfit. The pops of red are just perfect. I always think dark colors for cold weather, but you always do such an amazing job of wearing a wide array of colors during fall and winter. This gives me tons of inspiration. :)

I love this! It is sort of school-aged, but still sophisticated. Lovely and interesting :)

Hi, love the outfit on you. The blazer does have that “riding coat” thing going for it….I would love to see it with a black turtleneck and black skinny jeans and some great boots. (and maybe throw on a great plaid or equine print scarf?). That might be too boring for your style — but you would look ready for the Fox Hunt (LOL!). Seriously, what a great find!

Okay, this may be my all-time favorite outfit. Looove. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I have an equestrian background too. :)
