More challenging shoes! I bought these on my quest for flats, imagining adorable gamine-influenced outfits … and then realized that I’m not terribly gamine. They’re also super cute but fairly cheaply constructed and not the most comfortable shoes ever created. But I’ve grown to love them with cropped jeans and pants.
How would you wear these oxford flats?

They are cute! I would wear them with a girly dress and a man’s waistcoat.
I love flats. When I shoe shop I always migrate toward heels, pick them up, admire their beauty, their allure, the sexiness of a great heel, but in the end: I wear flats. Have a settled for the mundane? Not a chance. With flats I can be on my feet all day, still look stylish and not have the ‘high heel’ foot pain. Do I miss heels? Nope. I wear them for special occasions and nights out with Mr. Right, but for day in and day out – flats work for me.
LOVE these. I’m seeing myself wearing them with a midi skirt–probably forest greeen or mustard, but really any color would work!–and a button-up blouse beneath a drapey-cardigan. Wish they were more comfortable, though! That’s the challenge, I guess.
I want a pair of these, ever since I’ve seen Emily (The Other Emily) wearing them with everything from jeans to skirts and shorts!
If they’re not very comfortable, then not all all.
I’ve gotten picky in my old age and shoes that are comfortable from the get-go are a must. But they are cute!
I have a kind of similar pair of normal oxfords that I snagged from my mom’s “donate” pile before leaving for college. I’ve been having difficult fun styling them – my favorite look though, inspired by some of my college peers, is dark shorts with sheer black tights (some use denim but my favorites are olive green cargo), a girly, flowy, boho top, and a structured jacket. In general, I’ve noticed the brown oxfords with sheer black tights works well whereas opaque tights look odd. I’ve seen it with skirts and dresses too, for those who don’t like the shorts and tights look.
I think that there’s no room in anyone’s closet for any shoes that aren’t the most comfortable shoes in the world. Part of me admires the dedication to aesthetics that allows so many women to keep shoes in their closets that aren’t the height of comfort, and part of me shakes my head and wonders when athletics began to trump physical comfort………..I guess this is why I own less than 10 pairs of shoes…..all flats and flat boots
Taking the comfort out of this equation, I think these flat are adorable, and if they did not hurt your feet, I would wear them with full skirts and embrace the traditionally masculine/traditionally feminine contrast
Ok, so I am definately the odd woman out. While, the shoes are cute I have gravitated toward heels again. Flats fit me terribly and anything with a closed toe is asking for my tootsies to be pinched, so I say give up on the flats.
If they were comfortable what would I wear them with? Hmmmmmm……a flared skirt ending just below the knee- perhaps in a warm autum palette and a cute scarf over a nice blouse. Medium to large size handbag with woven leather handles. Yup! that should do it.
Those shoes are super cute! Mix and Match Fashion
I wish I knew what to wear with oxfords. I found the most perfect menswear-inspired oxfords about a month ago (the Cole Haan “Mackenzie”), but I’ve only worn them once because I am at a loss for how to style them. I love the juxtaposition of masculine and feminine pieces, but for some reason these beautiful shoes are proving hard to work into my wardrobe.
As for the ones in your photo, I’ll bet they’d look cute in the summer with a flowy, ballet pink dress, worn with a belt in a matching brown. As for fall, I can see them with a jewel tone green and mustard color story, but as far as the silhouettes go, I’m not sure.
Oh my God! I love these shoes! Skirts and tights? Shorts and tights? my climate is so much milder than yours in the winter so I wouldn’t even know where to start…. Skirts, tights and a MILLION other layers?
These flats aren’t my thing. So normally I wouldn’t wear them at all. But, I guess they would like nice with jeans or slim lined trousers. Perhaps a knee length skirt with tights (note, anything just above the knee is a “mini” skirt for me.)
I want them! As I approach 50, I find myself wearing flats more often. I’d style these with tights, a pencil skirt in a neutral color, oxford shirt and wide belt in a popping color. For weekends, I’d run around in them with my $2.50 Forever 21 thrifted jeggings, my fave brown jacket, and a camisole or tunic top.
