Casual Outfit: Week of October 23

Already Pretty outfit featuring Eileen Fisher sweater coat, black leggings, leopard print wedges
Maroon sweater coat, Eileen Fisher (no longer available) – similar
Black leggings, Target
Leopard wedges, Steve Madden ages ago – similar
Bracelet, J.Crew (no longer available) – similar
Moissanite studs, courtesy Charles & Colvard (giveaway forthcoming)

Oh, I felt very mod indeed in this ensemble. Maybe even a little bit Audrey Hepburn, which almost never happens to me. I feel far to clumsy and goofy to think of myself as gamine. But the newly-trimmed sideburns, ankle-length leggings, and leopard wedges got me as close as I may ever get to gamine!

I normally don’t care for leopard print but you make it work!

    Super cute looks!

  • Love these looks, Sal.

This is interesting. I don’t know as if I’ve ever considered Eileen Fischer’s stylings to be ‘mod.’ Is it because of the oversized buttons? Sorry, I don’t know much about fashion history.

  • Yes to the gamine! You know I love a pleated maxi, and that one is super-lovely. Have a great weekend.

I love(!!) the Sundance Catalog model look! They should hire you right now. 😉 I nearly cry every time I get a chance to look through one of their catalogs because they’re so far out of my price range… but maybe I can recreate the looks like you do so beautifully here. 🙂

  • Gamine is not a look I can pull off either, but I think you’ve nailed it here.

And I love your Sundance catalog look! 😉

oohhh, I just love the chambray + maxi skirt. You do such a great job of mixing industrial and feminine elements.

  • oh, sundance, so lovely. That skirt is completely gorgeous.

I’ve been DIY-ing again. This time I knocked off a new pair of anthro earrings (for about 1/10 the cost of the originals) and posted an illustrated tutorial. As someone who doesn’t DIY, I’d love to hear from you if the tutorial/images are clear and if the process makes sense – if you have time to drop by and check it out, that is? =)

Both of these outfits are really good looking. I’d never thought about leopard with burgandy and black, but it works wonderfully. I also have secretly longed to be a sundance catalog-dweller, but most of their looks would look terrible on me. You’re working it, though!

  • thank you, Sally! I have been wanting to do more tutorials, but I’m definitely still learning about how much information needs to be given and when, and how many steps need illustration, etc. It’s so sweet of you to take the time and give me feedback – I appreciate it! =)

Love your first outfit to pieces. it might even convince me to buy a pair of leggings.
