Already Pretty Daily Outfit 7/13/11 featuring Anthropologie Field Skirt

Teal cropped cardigan, The Mexican Shopsimilar
Teal tank, Target (no longer available in this color) – similar
Skirt, Anthropologie Field Skirt (no longer available at Anthro) – a few on eBay
Sandals, Miz Mooz Heather – courtesy Miz Mooz
Bracelets, Bibelotsimilar
Hoops, Bibelotsimilar

Shoe choice guides my outfit selection more often than any other factor. I knew that I’d be hauling my hiney across campus to meet Trinknitty for lunch today, and that giant clompers simply wouldn’t do. So I opted for my comfy-cute Miz Mooz sandals and some colorful separates.

Also just have to say that I’m convinced my hot pink toenail polish goes with and/or enhances everything I wear. I’ve considered swapping in a new color about a dozen times, but always end up going back. Why mess with a good thing?

Love this unexpected (to me) color combination! And that skirt makes me want to squeel (POCKETS!!!) except that I am so not a squeeler girl.

  • This is a beautiful combo and I love the color-block effect. I tend to plan my outfits around shoes as well!

  • I feel the same way about my bright blue toenails!

  • Claire

Also loving the color combo! Add a red lip and hairband and you could be our fabulously fashionable modern-day Snow White! Reminds me of College Candy or College Fashion (can’t remember which) doing Disney character-inspired outfit posts… such a fun feature!

  • How cute is that yellow skirt. Hooray for colorblocking eye searingly bright colors.

  • I just love this unexpected color combo! I have been pining for a mustard colored skirt forever and pairing it with turquoise never crossed my mind! I also like that you didn’t add any accessories – the outfit is great just as it is.

  • I love that you’re a body image expert! I have worked in the weight loss and fitness industry on and off for the past 23 years. I now work as marketing director at a gym in my area. i come across body angst almost daily and I almost want to BEG women to just accept themselves. I know I’m going to enjoy reading more of your posts! ~Serene (Oh, by the way…..LOVING those tattoos!)

  • Hey Sal,

I love the turquoise-and-mustard color combo! You should submit it to The Wear To Go Girls FB page for the “Look of the Week”!! • I typically end up with French on toes because I don’t know what color will go with everything. The hot pink is giving me ideas. ๐Ÿ™‚

I had a professor in college who always had bright, colorful toenails. They were usually more than one color, and she called them her “Skittle toes.” I guess being rainbow, they really did go with everything!

  • I have to say that I love this cropped cardigan and bolero styles on you. Esp the bolero+ dress look is so much you!

  • I really love this outfit, everything just clicks together, even the not perfectly shade coordinated top and cardigan.

Off topic but I totally threw you and your blog under the bus when my DH asked where my sudden boot needs had come from. I just HAD to buy a pair of Frye Veronica Slouch boots when I found them on sale. I figure I would have not known how gorgeous they look on (as opposed to the rather boring stock pic) if it weren’t for you.

  • beautiful! this skirt is the best mixture of fun, flirty and beautiful! and paired with that bright shirt…love! of course the shoes are amazing…i love it that you plan outfits around shoes!

  • Wow nice choice of color! Your style is extremely unique and stunning! Never stop what you’re doing :)!

  • Mia

I love this. LOVE THIS! The colors and shapes just make my heart sing. It looks so simple and comfortable, and the colors give it such joy. Definitely putting this in my inspiration folder!

  • Halo

This outfit is wonderful. It flatters your figure, and I love the color combination. I also agree with you on the hot pink polish–I spend two summers wearing nothing but OPI’s “It’s Greek to Me” on my toes and there wasn’t another color that could rival it.

  • Tiffany

Did you shorten this skirt? I have it too and it comes down past my knees…maybe I’m just a shortie though, hehe.

Looks much more summery at that length!

    • Sal

Nope, just hiked it WAY up. ๐Ÿ˜‰ My natural waist is pretty high on my torso.
