Casual Outfit Roundup: Week of July 17

Already Pretty outfit featuring organic cotton dress

My casual Friday outfit got rain-soaked on the bike ride home, so I changed into this after showering for date night dinner. The neckline on this dress is a bit too low for work, but ever so flattering and flirty.

Already Pretty outfit featuring Athleta dress

All of last weekend was a steambath, as evidenced by these photos. HM‘s lens was so fogged up we had to wait for the camera to acclimate to the humidity and heat before he could shoot, and even then we had some condensation. It was between 93 and 98 degrees both days with heat indices into the 100s and 80%+ humidity. Simple, lightweight, and washable were requirements all weekend.

  • I love the cool colors you chose, Sal, and the simple lines of the dresses. I turned on to Athleta about a year ago, and I love their dresses and skirts. Have a great weekend.

The comment about neckline makes me worry about my own work choices, especially being among the big of boob (34DD) and working in a conservative field (law). Uh oh!

Very cute outfits too, Sal, but that goes without saying!

  • Love both outfits! Cute dresses are such an easy thing to wear when it’s super hot outside and being inventive with what to wear is the last thing on your mind. Love the added scarf 🙂

Dresses in the summer are almost like stylish cheating – too easy to look good 🙂

I really love the shoes you are wearing in the first outfit. Are they comfy?

  • That top dress – very pretty! Would a cami help make it work appropriate?

  • I really like the way you’re wearing the scarf, I’ve been having trouble with scarves lately since they all feel choky in the heat, but I’m going to try that style!

Love that lavender dress. Re: low necklines at work…have you tried a cami bra with a lace overlay built in? [Here’s an example at http://www.soma.com/Product_Images/570010763_345.jpg%5D. Prices vary wildly on these bras, but the all-in-one design keeps them fuss-free and cooler than layering a full camisole under a top. I’ve found them terrific for turning low-cut weekend or evening dresses into work/conservative-appropriate ensembles.

Sally, I’m so sorry about the horrendous weather you’ve had. I hope that rain shower provided a little break. You look lovely in that picture. I’m never quite sure about wearing scarves in the summer heat, but yours added a coolness to your look. I buy most of my athletic wear from Athleta: running shorts, swim suits, etc. I will have to give their dresses a closer look especially since it seems that they are on sale right now.

That first pair of pumps is adorable! *sob* that they don’t seem to be available in my size anywhere.
