Already Pretty outfit featuring Desigual dress

Dress, Desigual – more Desigual dresses
Tank, Walgreens – similar (in leaf)
Shoes, John Fluevog Guide
Bracelet, thrifted – similar
Earrings, repurposed vintage – similar

This is the last of the dresses I bought in New York with Audi back in February, and it is just darling if I do say so myself. However, it’s a bit ornery. The design has that deep V in the front and back, which makes it prone to slippage. I wore it a few weeks ago with a nylon bandeau and spent the whole day hiking the sleeves back onto my shoulders.

This cotton tank gave the cotton dress something to stick to, which helped, but there were still slippage issues. Eventually, I used  fashion tape to stick the dress straps to the tank straps. SO much better!

The dress compliments your tattoo so wonderfully! First thing I noticed… Also, those shoes are to die for, but with the dress? Sheer perfection!

Cute, cute – and go ahead and say so yourself! Thanks for sharing the fashion tape tip. I have a similarly cut dress, and have spent way too much time adjusting myself : >

Man, I love how the shoes match the dress! Matchy-matchy FTW!!!! Those “go with” people just don’t know what they’re missing.

I’m not sure how to sound out the gasp I made when this picture showed up in Google Reader — I love this dress. So cheerful, and so lovely on you!

I love these dresses sooo much!
I bid on some after seeing you wearing one a few weeks back, but to no avail ;)
I was outbid each time . They are so unique and fun, plus super flattering !

Should anyone ever “accidently” break into your home and you find all of your Desigual dresses missing…well darn it, I’ve just outed myself, haven’t I?

They are fabulous.

Good gravy woman! Like I don’t have enough fashion items to pine after? Maybe I can squeak one of these in the budget for fall?

All ye who pine for Desigual dresses! The link in this post is to eBay, and some of those listings are just about full price, but there ARE deals to be had. And Desigual pieces come up in the online sample sales, too! Keep an eye on Ideeli especially: http://www.ideeli.com/invite/sal_mcgraw

How much do I love Desigual? I would love to have a dress like that!

I have never heard of Desigual, but the dress you’re wearing is adorable! Just the right amount of funky. And I just clicked over to your links and found out–they are all that stinkin’ adorable!

True to size?

Sal June 29, 2011 at 12:33 pm

NO! Sizing is incredibly unpredictable, I’m afraid. I take a size 8 dress in most mall stores, and an XL in Desigual dresses and tees. However, I assumed that sizing would just run small across the board and ordered two skirts from Ideeli – they’re HUGE. Check size charts!

T-shirts that have some sleeve/cap sleeves/tank tops that cover the shoulder may be a help with your slipping dress. They’d give you more fabric for your dress to stick to. On the other hand, your solution seems to have worked out nicely.

I just started reading your blog (LOVE it, by the way), so I don’t know about your comfort in this department, but have you considered sewing a ribbon across the back to hold it in place, kind of like this shirt?
