Yet another of my fabric-related quirks: I feel like corduroy is a spring/fall fabric. It seems too heavy and plush for summer, too light and breezy for winter. I’m sure I’m the only one who feels this way, but since I do, I try to make sure this blazer gets worn during the over-in-a-heartbeat shoulder seasons here in MN. Because it is such a fun piece.

Also still thrilled to be living in a “tights optional” world.

This reminds me of a 60’s throwback for chic professionals.

  • I too wore my corduroy today, however some of my co-workers tried to tell me that my mustard colored cords are a fall/winter pant. Psh on them!

  • I like the blazer!

How do you manage to not get your feet all chafed up without the tights? I can never wear dress shoes tights-less or my feet end up sore and blistered. I’m ok with sandals or clogs, but nothing with a closed toe and back.

  • I dig the blazer! It matches the dress so well. You look brilliant, Sal.

  • Don’t you just love Minnesota weather? Last night when they said the temps are going back to “normal” (upper 50’s) instead of the summery 70’s of yesterday, they made it sound as if I had to get my parka again. But 50’s is so gorgeous… No complaints here.

Love these shoes! Too bad they’re no longer available. This color is great with the rest of your outfit!

  • I believe you have a shoe collection to add the perfect shoe to any outfit. I’m in awe of how well this color combination meshes.

  • Such a cute blazer and I’m in love with the color of your shoes! I know, corduroy is tricky, I usually only wear it in fall!

  • Fun jacket!

  • Tights optional is fabulous. No choice because you are sweating is so much less fun. Love that blazer, great find.

It’s certainly not just you; I tend to think of corduroy as a spring/autumn fabric, as well, although if the weather cooperates in winter or summer, I can usually get past that feeling.

    This outfit is lovely!

That blazer has such a great pattern! Feels very 60’s to me, and I love the colour of the pumps. Really I just love everything going on here haha…

  • I’m loving these shoes – the color is just perfect!

  • Lisa

Love checking your outfits every day and I am looking at my clothes differently because of your combinations! Thanks!! I agree with Emily about the shoes – how do you wear those without tights or hosiery; my feet would get sore.

  • Such a great blazer! I love blazers that break out of the normal neutral zone.

  • That blazer is so fun and quirky. Absolutely adore it! But you know what I really adore from this outfit? Those gorgeous shoes. Absolutely fantastic, and coordinate so well with the blazer! You look gorgeous, as always. I am envious of your closet and would love to raid it some day.

Hey gals! In response to the questions about pumps and bare feet: Yeah, it hurts. These pumps are particularly annoying because they’re pretty cheaply made, have relatively little give, and rub in several spots. Most of my Tsubo pumps and my Fluevogs that get worn with bare feet do better, but spring is the season of toughening up my feet for the summer. It’s not for everyone, but I’m willing to deal with some rubbing here and there because I like the look of bare feet in pumps.

I’m told that Blister Block works wonders, but am yet to try it out. Mostly because I have a brain like a sieve and constantly forget to just BUY some!

I love how well all these colors work together. đŸ™‚

  • This is going to seem like an odd comment but I LOVE the weird color of those pumps! What would you call them? Antique sunshine? Dingy mustard? Muted goldenrod? Either way–Fab!

    • Sal

Hahaha. I usually go with “mustard,” but I think “dingy mustard” is WAY better!

I still want that jacket…not that I can wear jackets in Houston for more than 2 weeks in the dead of winter. đŸ˜› I am trying to prolong tights wearing and the only reason it is working is because the A/C at work is so strong. And I think I might have ONE more opportunity to wear a super light scarf…maybe…kinda…sorta…ok, not really but I think I’m going to anyway!
