As you can imagine, this outfit was constructed around the magical wizard scarf. I nabbed this guy and another in a purple/orange version of the same print at a shop selling miscellany in an Icelandic shopping mall. I’ve just been waiting for the right time to wear it. And, clearly, the right time is a gloomy Monday that involved hauling an extremely disgruntled and madly shedding Simon Kitty to the vet, then eating a messy lunch of leftover Mexican food. Because I’m practical like that.

Big BIG fan of that scarf. I would love to see it in purple/orange! I hope your precious is okay… routine vet visit?
Thanks for asking, sweetie. He’s OK. Gotta make a few changes in his diet and he’ll be right as rain.
Practicality is overrated. Those boots, however, are not! They are FANTASTIC! I love the purple and blue together. So gorgeous.
I love this!! Those boots are AWESOME!!
Love the coloring of this outfit, you look gorgeous. I love the scarf, such a great find! I hope your cat is better soon.
Bravo bravo bravo! I love blue and purple together. And the grey is a perfect touch.
Love the color combo! The jewel tones are just beautiful. And the scarf is to die for!
The blue and purple look lovely on you.
I dig the match blues of this outfit.
Your hair looks so pretty!
I love the combination of the rich blues with the purple. And the gray blazer?! It rocks!!
I am seriously coveting that scarf! The pops of blue in this outfit and the color palette in general is just lovely!
My favorite color combo – love the cool jewel tones! And those boots are to die for!
Sal, you are just stunning in that blue scarf. And I love that you paired it with purple. I never would have thought to pair those two, but it looks fabulous.
Loving the fact that you have different “pops” of color. BTW, you have a great smile!
I love the purple and royal blue together. I am trying out that combination as soon as I have something in those jewel tone colors. Totally green with envy over those blue boots.
And those colors look amazing with your skintone!

Simply beautiful! I have such a hard time dressing colorfully and creatively in the wintertime — this is quite inspirational.
(Glad to hear the kitty’s going to be ok!)
I love love love those colours together!

I love all the colors in this outfits, and the boots are totally on-point! Great look on you!
What fabulous boots, and I love your purrple dress. So nice to see people wearing colour at this dreary time of year.
Colored boots = spectacular, mixing jewel tones = spectacular! Sending good healing kittie vibes your way.
I love every single part of this outfit. I haven’t combined those shades of blue and purple, and I’m wondering WHY NOT?? I absolutely love it!
You know, Sal, I’m no expert or anything, but I know what colors I look good in. I suspect that, like me, you are a winter. As such, the colors in this post look fabulous on you! The teal, on the other hand, looks not so good. Look at the photos yourself, and I think you’ll see that the teal pulls the color right out of your face! I prefer to look rosy, but teal makes me look like I died and nobody told me! All oranges, mustards, rusts, etc. do the same to me. Just my humble opinion.
Regards, Gail D.
I hear ya, Gail, but I’m not super concerned about looking pale. I actually AM quite pale, after all. There are certain colors – some corals and lots of pale pinks – that make me look positively ashen, and I avoid those. But otherwise, I don’t want to make myself a slave to a certain, narrow set of colors. Too confining!
It’s true, you’re nothin’ if not practical.
Seriously, though, I really love this. The color palette is so perfectly wintry. Hope Simon Kitty is okay!!
Sal, you look so cute!
I agree with Rebecca…the blue and purple definitely flatter you. I would also like to add that I love this blog. It is so inspirational, uplifting, and positive. You’re beautiful inside and out.
I absolutely adore this color combination. I have been seeing this combo on shoes. It makes me want to ditch my usual black with a splash of red…at least once in a while.
I hate bringing the kitty to the vet (and he hates going) so I hope your little guy is doing well.
Those boots! That’s what my brain said as soon as I saw your picture. They’re amazing – slouchy blue thicker-heeled wonders.
