Daily Outfit: 11/9/10

Yellow sweater, BCBG via consignment – similar items

Gray wool dress, Banana Republic – similar
Bow-back pumps, Punkrose – similar

Well, since we’ve got freakishly warm weather all week long, I’m gonna try to squeeze in a handful of tights-free outfits! There are several on my outfit list that would be totally ruined by adding legwear, and this is definitely one of them. I like it as-is, and can’t really imagine what type of tights would work well in the mix. At least, not ones I currently own …

Confession: I used white athletic peds as dress liners today. It felt a little weird to have socks in my armpits, but I definitely don’t need to dry clean my sweater. Bizarrely, the dress itself got stinky. I guess a 50% success rate ain’t bad.

And, finally, my neckline looks like a pouty lower lip. Thought you should know.

P.S. Still going strong over at the Twin Cities Family Community. We’re chatting about online/in-person shopping ratios, where folks prefer to buy cosmetics, and all sorts of other good stuff!

I love how your tattooes match your outfit! That is superb.
(There's a typo in the title.)

Grey + Yellow = Happiness.
And then you throw in those bow pumps, and I'm just in love!

JRose: Holy moly, that's the second time today I've had to fix a post title! I need to stop blogging blindfolded …

Aw, I just love those pretty shoes. I could see this outfit with some pale gray, textured tights — perhaps just a simple ribbed texture, nothing too busy. Love the pouty face!

Lol! Seriously cracking up at the last picture.

I love those pumps every time you wear them. I think you've gotten a lot of unique pairings out of them.

I would not have noticed the lower lip had you not pointed it out, and now it's all I can see!

What a great job pairing the dress with the sweater. I never would have thought to pair those very different necklines, but I suppose that is why you are the layering queen.

I spent far too much time thinking about what tights you could wear with it, and really, I couldn't come up with anything. I'd love to see it with maybe a different colour shoe and burgundy tights at some point… or at least I better remember that colour combination for when this 30 for 30 challenge is done!!
The tattoo works so well with the outfit too – I'm so glad you chose to photograph it

I totally love that last pic.

And those shoes look amazing–no pics of the bow in the back?!?

I would like to steal those shoes right off your feet dearest Sal. =) And your pouty face picture just wiped some stress from my life.

I want more pouty pictures! Or at least facial expressions that imitate your clothes.

Agreed… those shoes are FABULOUS and I love the pouty pic – too cute! I used to have a horse that did that pouty lip thing when he wanted a carrot. His shoes were NOT so glam!

Socks as dress liners? Is that a fairly regular accessory for you? Is this a tip you've passed along in other posts?

The tat and the shoes and sweater are such a cute combo. Isn't it funny when you realize you've dressed to match a tat and didn't even plan it? I guess that's why we picked the colors we did huh? Hey, I got this link from a comment left on Sheila's website. It's something I want to check out, haven't had the money yet. http://www.kleinertsshields.com/ They have some really great products for those of who are sweaty, or stinky… Let me know if you give them a try.

I love that bright yellow sweater over the grey dress – grey and yellow are such a fantastic combination – but the thing I love most about this whole look is that you paired those shoes with it. The green is the perfect jolt of color, and I love the little yellow bows in the back. Such a great look, Sal!

You are adorable and hilarious. Also, I'm going to steal all of your shoes, especially your space boots from the Casualmere outfit. Just a heads-up.

Love,
Laura

Love the outfit!

But what are "dress liners"? I've never heard of these.
