That’s right, I’ve recently been promoted to MAYOR OF MATCHY-MATCHYTOWN. I had planned to wear this darling blazer with my pale yellow skirt, but the tones looked wretched together. So I yanked this dress. Then the shoes. And then the matchy was unstoppable.

I did throw in the brooch to break things up a little …

… but I dig this saffron monochrome. It’s costumey, playful, funky, and a little bit retro. All stylistic elements I adore!

Ohmygoodness so sunshine awesome! I was just lamenting the fact that summer has at least another month to go here in the south but wow! talk about summery eye candy.

Yellow is the happiest color! I hope this serves as inspiration to convince Gertie to embrace the saffron!

All you need is a yellow Mayor's sash.

Matchymatchy looks great on you.

I'm not usually much for matchy-matchy, but this is beautiful! That jacket is just perfect on you, and I love the retro vibe.

It probably goes without saying but I love this. People wear black and white monochrome all the time. I think yellow raises the bar and takes it into a whole new territory – one I would like to visit!

Love the yellow and the shoes are great. Is it still that cold where you are?

I can't get out of Matchytown.

Have you seen the play on Katy Perry's "Kalifornia Gurls", "Minnesta Girls"? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-KS99BU_2A&feature=related. I thought you might enjoy it.

I 100% understand the impulse, it's hilarious and awesome. Brava. If you want nits picked, the skirt is maybe a little too full and free-flowing for the outfit, but I don't think we care for actual life vs editorial purposes.

Can I request that you have online garage sales? Selling your unwanted clothes that are still in good condition on your blog? Or even making them a 24 hr giveaway and randomly choosing someone? Might be a good way to get rid of some stuff in your closet and make your readres happy. :D

I love your writing, it's hilarious. This is such a nice outfit, you don't even need the brooch. And I disagree that the skirt is too full. It's perfect.

I'm not usually matchy-matchy either, but I really like that, especially with the touch of coral. I think you should save this outfit for a gray and rainy day, because it's so bright and cheery.

This is so 1960s "Mad Men" with a modern twist. I love it!

Gosh Sal, when I opened your page I was momentarily stunned by your knockout of an outfit. It's radiant in every sense. Who said that yellow is the hardest colour to wear? you have just turned that saying on its head. Could this shade of pollen yellow even be your power colour…? you deserve 11/10 for following your matchy-matchy instinct to create something so audacious yet so right. It definitely has to be a contender for Sal's Best Outfit Ever.

Quite aside from your resounding colour coordination victory, the jacket is stunningly flattering- wish I had one in that design and cut; and, I really like the whole shape and silhouette of these shoes.

Oh. Those. SHOES!!! Now, I'm a conservative, rule-following, make no waves kind of person, but I would probably tackle you on the street and take those shoes if given the opportunity!

I love this! So cute – looks like you are about to enter (and win) a swing-dance competition at a 1940's USO banquet… perhaps with Gene Kelly as your partner? It's not costume-y, it's just really cute and cheery in yellow.

That blazer looks like it was made just for it – it fits you perfectly! I love the details of it that make it unique and so cool. And I love the color match – the way you've done it looks smart and confident and not at all matchy-match.

I am IN LOVE with this outfit. So bright and sunny and happy! And yellow and hot pink is one of my favorite color combos. I do this combo in my window boxes every spring, and it always pleases me. Or is that brooch red? Whatever, still love!

I am having a real yellow bender at the moment. I don't own any, because I think it makes me look dead, but am finding myself gravitating towards it in shops and on others.

Love this outfit!
