Lovely Links: 5/7/10

Apparently, a Facebook group exists that proclaims there is a weight limit on skinny jeans. Please read what Natalie had to say about that.

In other skinny jean news, apparently you can’t get raped if you’re wearing a pair in Australia. And there’s legal precedence in several other countries. EvaNadine sent me this link and asked me to post a response but, as I told her, I have no idea what I might say besides a long, long, LONG string of expletives. Please, if you have something more coherent to contribute, do so in the comments or on your own blog and let us know.

That skinny jeans group is crazy. I got a pair and love them (I also weight over 200 lbs). To each their own.

    Sal, I've got to fess up . . . I DO indeed go for the nude-shoe-elongation-strategy. ;-P

And YOU are partly to blame because I'm the happy owner of a brand new pair of Tsubo Acreas …. en nude! And I'm just about over the moon with them.

    You always inspire,

There are too many stupid Facebook groups to keep track of.

I've worn glasses for about a decade now, and I used to *hate* them. I got contacts in 2008 and now that I have the option between glasses and contacts, I love my glasses. I think what I hated was not having option between wearing the glasses and not having the frames on my face. I feel much more stylish with my glasses on, yet only receive attention from the opposite sex when I wear my contacts. I still wear my glasses 99% of the time.

Just to piss off that Facebook group, I'm going to wear my skinny jeans this week. I don't normally, not because I'm over their weight limit, but because I warm up on squats with your max, punk.

    Gah.

Thank you so much for the shout-out, Sal! Some really wonderful links here as always.

    Have a great weekend!

I loved this woman's response to the skinny jeans = not rape debacle:

Who knew skinny jeans were so controversial? And I'm only able to reply in so light a tone after about two hours of ranting on and off to my boyfriend at the world's stupidity, and then another half hour of bombarding poor Natalie's blog with comments to various posts to get my thoughts off my chest. Eeshk.

Uh-oh. I feel the light tone lifting and I'm about ready to start ranting again, so I'll spare you and go do something else. Like maybe convert my bell bottoms into skinny jeans.

Whoa, thank-you very much for the linkage, Sal! I appreciate it so much, thank-you!
