Asymmetric sweater, Ruby Messiah in Hobart, Tasmania
Rose sweater shell, Ann Taylor Loft
Khaki full skirt, Gap
Gray pumps, Tsubo Acrea
Leaf dangle earrings, Target

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: This sweater is my prized possession. Yes, it’s a bit frillier than my everyday style, but I am still 100% enamored of it five years after its purchase.

I bought it off the back of a salesclerk in a boutique in Hobart, Tasmania, and at the time it was the most expensive piece in my wardrobe. And worth every penny.

Our neighborhood is generally absolutely empty when HM and I do photos, but for the first time tonight, we had some onlookers. A couple of construction dudes who looked extremely curious/suspicious. But when I waved big and friendly at them, they waved big and friendly right back. Maybe I should’ve gone over and given them a business card for the blog …

Very, very pretty sweater. Is the flower a brooch or part of the sweater?

  • Hannah

Construction workers are always around whenever I'm doing something silly/different. Like today while walking from my car to the leisure pool in my swimsuit and strapless dress, and then my dress slipped down. Luckily they were all on their break and watching… 🙂 Maybe I should have waved?

  • Sal

Suz: Yes, the flower brooch is part of/came with the sweater.

  • WendyB

^^^LOL @ Hannah. You definitely should have waved. And maybe flashed a V for Victory sign.

  • Lesa

I love frilly and that is one of the most beautiful things I have seen.

  • Vanessa

I love the color palette here. You look lovely, Sal!

  • Charlotte

That is a great sweater, Sal–it looks handmade. It's a nice spring outfit.

  • Sue

Lovely outfit. The skirt is divine. It's not just a simple A-line skirt is it? I think I saw a seam line that curved across the front.

That sweater is gorgeous! I covet!

We live really close to a dog park, so frequently dogs and their owners get a little glimpse of my photo shoots.

These photos are just gorgeous! I love that pretty chunky knit sweater with the bit of purple peaking out from underneath!

  • Audi

The asymmetry! The flowers and ribbons! The fact that you bought it off someone's back in Tasmania! It really doesn't get much better than that.

Holy geez, I love that cardigan. So unique and pretty!

  • Annie Spandex

You look so lovely in this sweater! Like an English rose 🙂

  • All Women Stalker

First of all, that sweater is gorgeous. Just beautiful.

Second of all, how do you wave big and friendly to onlookers? I never have the guts to do so when I do outfit shoots. Haha

  • eek

Your sweater is amazing! I love how you have so many different pieces from around the world!!

When I have the hubs take remix photos, I am so self-consious and usually do it as quickly as possible. Good for you for owning it! 🙂

  • Rachel @ Suburban Yogini

I love that sweater. I know Hobart quite well and am trying to think where that store is. Is it in Salamanca Place?

  • Sal

Rachel @ Suburban Yogini: I believe so. This was five years ago, mind you, so the shop may have closed down.

  • Sox

That is a gorgeous sweater. You must be a very persuasive speaker to by it from someone who was already wearing it-and agreed to give it up. I must work on my knitting skills.

It’s a gorgeous sweater and I think part of what makes it special is that it is a different look from what you typically wear.
