I am a lapsed knitter myself, and kept threatening to knit myself a cowl. Luckily, Trin was listening and made me one that is FAR lovelier than anything I could’ve cooked up.

Trin scooped me on this one, and if you’re interested in knitting the cowl yourself she posted the pattern info, too!

Also premiering, these Frye boots. I have longed for a similar pair for more than a year, even though they don’t fit perfectly into my everyday style. When I saw these on sale, I caved. And they are comfy and lovely and I can totally see wearing them through spring with cute little floral frocks!

This is a bit dressy for weekend wear, I know, but I’d thrifted the sweater the day before and was dying to take it out for a spin!

Yes, I’m pretty pleased with this pattern alignment, thank you very much.

You SHOULD be pretty pleased with the pattern alignment! I don't blame you for taking it out for a spin!
Love the shrug! And the pattern mix up is awesome.
Those Frye workboots are AWESOME, and they make your legs look amazing! I never would have thought that a pair of flat lace-up work boots could make your gams look as shapely and sexy as they do, but yowza!
I love the tan and red combination in the first outfit! It's such a great pairing. And of course the pattern on those tights is very cool.
I am so jealous of your Frye boots! The pattern on that shrug is fantastic.
what a great cowl! the pattern is so unique and I love the red and how you mixed it so well with the brown. Adorable as always
THAT’S the way to wear stone! Break it with a very flattering shade right up against your skin and viola – it’s flattering. A deep blue-red is one of your best colours so well done Sal and thank you Trin! Those boots are ideal for pretty Spring floral dresses too. Very nice!
The pattern alignment on the second outfit works wonderfully!
You should wear that shade of red EVERY DAY!
I'm also a huge fan of the Frye boots. Total boot envy going on. There's something about the hard/utilitarian vibe of work boots that I find sexy on fellas and ladies. (What's up with that?) I can't wait to see you remix them with floral and flirty spring dresses.
That shrug is great! It really adds texture to the outfit, and is a beautiful color on you.
I really love the boots in the second outfit– they're exactly what I'm looking for.
You had me at that red scarf!
Love the pop of color with the red scarf & those patterned tights
Those Frye boots are AWESOME!!!!!!
patterned tights/shrug matching is awesome! The red cowl is pretty awesome too. ^_^
Pretty outfit!
I fear I've been hypnotized by the patterns and will awake clucking like a chicken.
Those boots are fantastic and comfy looking too! I love the patterned shrug with those tights too!
Both outfits are winners!
Already Pretty/Trinknitty giveaway? I think yes.
I am so very jealous of your boots. I have been looking for a good lace-up pair for months!
Wow you look tiny in that skirt! Rock on!
What a great scarf! Love the mix of styles with those boots. You always blow me away by wearing skirts and dresses in such cold weather. If I were in that weather, it'd be all pants and long johns!
Hi Sal, would you say that the Frye Owens are true to size? Or waterproof? Admiring them and thinking about maybe getting a pair. Thanks!
michelle: I'd guess they run a bit big. I'm between an 8 and 8.5, ordered the 8.5 and they're quite roomy but still extremely comfy. I can't speak to waterproof, but I'm sure they're water resistant since it's waxed suede.
That cowl is divine; what a great color for your skintone. And I can totally picture those boots with a floral sundress; they have sort of a 1930's work boot look.
