Casual Outfit Roundup: Week of February 7

by Sal on February 13, 2010 · 16 comments

Red wool sweater, thrifted
Pleated denim skirt, thrifted
Charcoal tights, Banana Republic
Red cowgirl boots, John Fluevog
Necklush via Etsy
Earrings, a gift from lovely reader Rebecca!

This is what I wore to Go Red for Women last Friday. Did anyone else participate?

These boots don’t get nearly enough love. They were an impulse buy, if you can believe that. Yes, I bought a pair of chunky soled, bright red, breathtakingly expensive cowgirl boots on impulse. That was back in the bad old days …

Brown sweater tunic, courtesy PB&J (read my review of it here)
Gray leggings, Old Navy
Black boots, Tsubo Kison
Necklace, via eBay
Mesh cuff, thrifted
Hoops, a shop in SF

Oh, how I love this cozy, chic sweater tunic. This felt like the perfect weekend outfit: Sinfully comfy leggings, tunic, and boots but dressed up with some statement jewelry.

Gray boyfriend cardi, Banana Republic
Black t-shirt dress, American Apparel
Purple leggings, American Apparel
Purple silk scarf worn as belt, a street fair
Purple faux pearls, gift from my MIL
Black boots, Diesel Go-go

I started to worry that I was falling into a weekend wear rut, with my sweater dresses and leggings. I realize this isn’t a gigantic departure, but hey, there’s a belt! It’s a step!

Yay for the red Fluevog cowgirls! I love your Go Red for Women Outfit. We got a lot of snow here that day, and since I didn't actually need to go anywhere I spent the day inside in yoga pants and a tunic. My nails were painted red, and M. wore a red sweater when he went to run errands.

Red looks so good against a snowy background. I guess that explains Santa's suit.

Oh, how I love that brown tunic. I'm always confused by boyfriend cardigans; you make it look so effortless paired with the dress and awesome touches of purple.

Please send neglected red Fluevog cowgirl boots to me in Canada – I can provide them with a good home and lots and lots of wear. I promise to send pictures on a regular basis!! ;)
You look stunning in such a clear red. You should definitely wear it more often!!

You're so good at mixing and matching clothes to make your outfits. I love all the looks especially because they are so different. Do you usually plan your outfit the night before or choose what to wear on the day itself? I'm curious. :)

Oh, and happy valentine's day to you.
