This post should actually be titled "Recommended VIEWING," I suppose, as it pertains to a superfantastic, inspiring YouTube channel. Reader Gili wrote to tell me about Project Lifesize - a body-positive endeavor she'd previously contributed to - and immediately I knew that I needed to spread the word. And I think I'm going to introduce it to you all ... by introducing you all to Gili:
The project mission states, "When I was younger I didn't have anyone in my corner telling me that I was beautiful, regardless of what the media or my peers told me. I wanted to create a dialogue about not weight acceptance, but self love." HEAR FLIPPIN' HEAR.

What an adorable girl.
I have a mole like that on the opposite side of my belly button. And you know what's weird? When I saw hers on the video, I thought "that looks familiar" and I actually had to go LOOK at my stomach to see if I had one. Maybe I've been looking at this body every day for so long that I just glaze over it now without giving it a whole lot of thought. The times I most think about it are when I'm wondering why my clothes are fitting differently, so then I'm staring my body under a layer of fabric.
But anyway....I have a couple moles (that one on my belly, I have one on my ass, I have one on a toe, probably a few more I'm forgetting about) and I really, really love them when I actually take the time to notice them. I know so many people hate theirs or are neutral at best, but I like having little asymmetrical details on my body :)
It reminds me what a visual society the US is more so than most.
Ha! I love this! What a cute video. Thanks for sharing!
