Sally on the Telly, and Shop Local Shops

Well, I do hope you’ll pardon a little horn-tootling because I’ve got two fairly big announcements for you today, my friends!

The lovely lady that I’m posing with in the above photo is reporter Shannon Slatton from Channel 12 News. She stopped by my house last week for a little interview, which aired yesterday afternoon. You can check out the piece right here! Well, you can if you have a PC and run Internet Explorer … Mac users (including MYSELF) are out of luck. When I get the segment on DVD in a couple of weeks, I’ll upload to YouTube and repost so we Macs can see. Promise.

If you watch the entire segment, you’ll hear me mention a little something called Shop Local Shops. This is a project I’ve been working on for well over a year, now. Initially it was a book proposal, then I had a deal to send out the content via a year’s worth of magazines … but both deals fell through and I ended up just doing it myself as a website. It’s an online guide to boutique shopping in the Twin Cities, and although we’re launching with only three neighborhoods covered, I plan to gradually add the rest over the coming months.

I’ve poured my very soul into this site, so I do hope you’ll all take a peek, and spread the word. Big ups to Alyson Graves who designed the gorgeous header, and rock star Jesse Hensold who did all of the programming!

So I sat watching a blank screen – I'm not one for reading instructions.

Hawt damn! I'm lookin' forward to your segment…but I can wait.

You toot-toot, beep-beep all ya won't. The new project looks great but it took me a while to figure out where the Twin Cities where…I'm not doing well this evening.

Haven't been able to watch the video yet – but I can't wait to! And I did read the article accompanying it and saw the reference to the fab new site. I am off to look at it now. (I did wonder why I'd never heard about it – like was I in a coma while it was being discussed!? Glad to learn it is a new venture :-) )
